View Full Version : SMA Chrome Fuel Door
SMA no longer offers their chrome fuel door because it is being offered at Hummer Dealerships now. I have called a few dealers and they are clueless.
Does anyone know where I can order this fuel door. I do not want another brand other than the one SMA offered.
Any help would be appreciated.

Go to the car boutique...ecarboutique.com they have them
Thanks--but they are listed as discontinued on that site---dealers are supposed to have them but I cannot find one.
Can anyone else help?

Call Dick Hannah Hummer @ 503 252-4868
I thought I saw one there today.
Ask for Brian in Hummer parts. Tell him he sounds like he has a bad haircut. It's an inside joke. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks--I tell him about the haircut!
I got mine a couple of months ago at Hall Hummer. It is of the locking variety. 757-498-2200. Ask for Chuck in Hummer sales. Tell him you are a friend of Ken's with the SC. I paid around $160 or so. Or just PM me and I will get it for you. I can take it as far as DC next weekend or just ship it to you.

My THANKS to DRTYFN & KenP who both located the door for me. DRTYFN's lead answered the phone first, so I got it there. I actually bought three because I know people who want them an GM is not stocking them around here yet!

I have the SMA fuel door and White Beast who is a frind of mine just got his replaced because the hinge system fell apart. The replacement from the dealer was the locking one which I believe is made by MC2 which to my understanding is owned buy the same people of SMA

This link will take you to the MC2 Fuel door.

This is the door I currently have on my H2. It is very heavy and has a heavy duty lock cylinder. I like this door a lot. I purchased mine off ebay from Factory Customs for $158.00 plus shipping.

Have you had any problems with your door Spike? Mine is going to meet my shotgun in the next few days I think since it no longer opens. Still have to figure out how to get it off since I sure could use some gas real soon!

The only problem I had was after the first snow storm I notice a small amount of a chalky substance around the opening for the lock cylinder. I cleaned it off with chrome polish and sprayed a little lube into the cylinder. So far so good. I think fuel doors have to be kept clean and lubed, especially in the bad weather. I think in time without maintenance all doors and lock cylinders would probably fail.

That's the one on the Hummer website offered as the optional "locking" cap from the dealer for $180.
You can never have enough horsepower! Yellow LUX, Airforce intake, stainless headers and exhaust, Gobi rack and ladder, roof mounted off road lights, full wrap brush guard, rear light guards, outside tire carrier, Rancho 4" suspension lift, Ultra "EN4CER" 17x9 wheels, Goodyear 37/12.50R17 MT/R tires, removed side-step bars, 9.5ti warn multi-mount winch.
How difficult is it to install? What is involved?
I actually saw one today. It looks really nice. It has a locking cap and the whole back assembly. This hummer cap is much easier to install than the MC2 or the SMA. Just the 3 bolts inside and change the whole assembly.
