I have read a bunch of posts about tranny slip. Most posts say the slippage is from 2nd to 3rd, or the tranny starts out in 2nd. My 05 SUT slips only in reverse. Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be the ignition switch as I have read? I am bringing the truck in tomorrow for some other warranty issues and I would like to sound like I know what I am talking about. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
Thanks for the continued help!

Thats how my tranny started going bad. It slipped in reverse and had no power. Took it in because I had just bought it and the fluid was low. Check your fluid and if it is low take it in but don't tell them about the fluid level. I did and all they did was fill it up. They did no other checks. Anyways that seemed to work for a week or so. Then it started slipping again in reverse and from a start. They ended up changing out my tranny because they couldn't identify what the exact cause was. Took them just over a month to do this.
When they dropped the tranny pan it was full of shavings. Some of the cooling lines were clogged up from the shavings so they changed them out as well. The one thing I have learned at least from the lazy bastards here is don't try to sound educated because they will only do the minimal amount of work. Like Phil said tell them tranny slips in reverse and leave it at that. Make them work for it. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. I dropped off the truck this morning and just told them the tranny is slipping in reverse. Hopefully they will get back to me today with some results.

So far they have eliminated the transfer case as a problem. Now they are taking the tranny down and pressure testing it. They seen to think that it may be a bad seal somewhere. Good thing for the warranty.

Funny side note: It was pretty breezy here on Friday night and I had the loaner car parked in my driveway. At about 10pm, the kids portable basketball hoop caught a breeze and fell onto the loaner. The rim went right through the windshield and landed against the dash. Oh well, I hope they're not too mad. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

It looks like they are replacing the whole transmission. I should have it back in another day or two.
Since the windshield incident,( see above post), they now gave me a brand new H3 with only 20 miles on it to use until my truck is done. I guess I will have to "slum it" for a while. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif J/K H3 owners. I really didn't think I would miss my H2 so much. Oh well, only another couple of days.

I know about missing the truck. Was without mine for a while and had a 2006 Yukon. Couldn't really complain but it still was not the H2.

Got my truck back on Friday. They couldn't find the problem, so they replaced the whole tranny. Also got the 06 mirrors while it was there. Nice to have it back!
