I figured it'd get peoples attention... :)

Actually without scrubbing you can?t really get the dirt off. I tried pressure washing it but it still leaves a film of dirt still. And, it?s a biatch to try and get your hands/arms in between the roof and rack.

Someone invent a tool!!!!

With a thread title like this, I thought this was about the T&A affiliates.

Amazing for an Asian chick, eh? I heart camera phones!
If this thread doesn't pick up soon, I'll have to dig deeper into my collection.

"touchless" and "racks" should never be used in the same thread

Getting back on topic...go to the car wash and instead of using soap and then a brush to get your Rig or roof racks clean try this: rinse your rig off first using "RINSE" then switch the dial to "TIRE CLEANER" spray the roof down with this and any other area that is hard to clean like the wheel wells, nerf bars, hood grill, front bumper, rear bumper...etc. Then wait about a minute and let it soak. Switch the dial to "WAX" and spray off the areas you applied the "TIRE CLEANER" to. VOILA! Spotless. Works like magic. Every third wash or so I do the entire truck this way, works really well. The tire cleaner stuff is the same product automatic wash bays use to clean your car when you sit inside your rig and go through the cycle. Albeit, with the roof racks I can't get in most of the wash bays anyway!

Peace.

I've never washed my roof. Just line-x it and never worry again (plus it helps when you drop stuff on the rack and it falls through and scratches the roof but you never really see the scratch because of the roof rack and so it rusts)

I picked up this handy little scrubber at a local Auto store. Real handy,, small. gets under the rack, and wash mitt is inner changeable. Plus it has a telescoping handle to really scrub that rack area.. hEh Heh:p

cobweb brush works great. They usually have telescoping handles.

What's the clearance needed on this? My rack is 1/8" off the roof for the cross rails, 1-1/2" for the floor. Will it fit? It might actually be worth it to occasionally clean the avian fecal matter off the roof.

Ive never measured roof to bottom of my rack, but it sits on the cross bars so its probably 2 or 3 inches. If yours sits that low you will probably have to take it off to wax it. Heres a pic of mine

Loyal subject of the T & A :)

And according to the psychologist on my staff, every one of them makes you think about the object of your obsession.
