Anyone know if someone has come out with extenders for the side steps? I'm not saying I have big feet but they feel they should be out about 2 more inches.

I have not heard of any but I am looking for an adaptor so I can attach mine to the rocker rails. Took them off to go to Tellico and am getting tired of hearing the GF bitch but am not taking the rails off  :D

Just get the side steps that attach to the rocker rails.

Can you buy just 2 side steps for the rock rails or do you have to buy 4?

I was thinking of putting them on the passenger side for around town.

they come in pairs, so yes, you can just buy two.

I prefer the tube steps versus the U-steps though :(

and remember -- rockers aren't standard on H3s like they are H2s....expensive to get the u-step kit from start to finish..

I just can't believe there is no one out there that hasn't made bigger mount brackets for the steps. It can't be that hard... piece of metal.

Might be easier to make your own extenders using the old ones as a template.

Now for my questions. I read in the owners manual to remove the steps before offroading. Would this include the nerf bars that I have installed on my H3? Please excuse me if you think this is a stupid question but I ouwld like to here your opinions.

YES!! Those steps are not meant for protection. And if you hit something hard enough they can actually bend up into the rocker panel and cause more damage.

Thanks; I kind of figured that but thought I'd ask the question anyway. Now I have to crawl under and figure out how to remove them.:D

What I find interesting is you can't put the rock rail protector on with the tubular assist steps.

Black H3 I apologise for taking over your thread it wasn't my intension when I asked my question.

I was very shocked about this as well since you can with on the H2. I know there was a thread last fall where someone had done it but last time I did a search I could not find it. May have to go back and try again.

They'd look pretty sweet with the rocker/step combo...black or chrome -- they'd just have to re-design the step, because right now if you had it, the step would probably become useless

Thanks for finding it. Will have to take a look this weekend about doing this.

I honestly don't like the look of both bars together. But the install looks clean. I might like it better if the steps were powder coated.

I will post pics when I finally get around to mounting my black steps with the rocker rails.
