Anyone familiar with this St. Paul based hunting and fishing chain? They are opening their first FL location right around the corner which will be nice. It will be an 80,000 square foot store with a broader outdoor selection than their other stores I guess. Just curious if anyone has shopped in one and what they thought.

I shop at Gander quite a bit. Mostly clothing and paintball supplies, but they have tons of stuff. Everything from fishing supplies to ATV's.
It's kind of like a mini Bass Pro or Cabelas.

Very cool, glad to hear it. Looking forward to having something like that right around the corner. We do have the bass pro shop here but it is down where all the tourists are and I don't go there. This store will also be selling fishing and pleasure boats as well.

much better on the guns than Bass Pro. You can finger the guns quite easily.

Rumor has it that we might be getting one around here to compete with Bass Pro.

They are opening new stores in the next few months in the following places:

Charleston, W.Va.
Knoxville, Tenn.
Huntsville, Ala.
Winchester, Va.

I bought a 9' x 9' dome tent from them about 15 years ago. It was their own "Gander Mountain" product. I've used it about 30 times and it always kept me comfortable. One time there was a serious rainstorm and we were totally dry. It's still as good as new.

That's all I know.
