I was driving up Fremont pass today, and I saw.... A SATURN AURA! It was a mule with strangely colored wheel well flares, but it looked sweet. So I guess this means they are coming. Since my wife took the camera, I couldn't stop and take a picture. But I did beep! :D

Yea the Caddy motor would be nice (if it ever happens) in the Aura, but talk about bad torque steer.

I'm too much of a motorhead I guess. I think it's cool to see cars testing before the release. The Sky is already out. This car should be a major turning point for GM/Saturn though. If this new assault fails, we all get hurt, especially Hummer being the low volume/few dealers branch.

I saw a Dualie Chevy/GMC that was camoed coming out of Denver today. It was however not in a position to take a picture of.

I do find this worth noting about the Aura:

From what I can tell, that is the ACTUAL production interior.

Saw one at an auto show back in January and it was pretty nice. Sure it's a Saturn (nothing wrong with that), but as nice as it is, they should sell pretty good.

that interior is gorgeous.

my favorite interiors are the really expensive benz's (no bentley or rolls dealers w/in ~800 miles of me). One thing that leaves me flat is the pleather fake-leather that Audi and Beemer and i think Benz use in their less-than-highest-end vehicles. Pleather is cool on the cracked bar-stools at some run-down dive bar, but it would suck driving around in a $50k german car with an inside that owes considerable apology to the $30k Kia (which has a really attractive interior)

The caddy XLR is imo the most handsome car to hit the streets, basically, ever. but the inside leaves me a little flat. the DTS has a more attractive cabin (and is a killer highway car for the $$$)

GM seems to be on a roll with interiors. From Buick to Pontiac & the considerable improvements in the '07 Escalade, it seems they are moving from the back of the line to the front.

The H3s leather interior is really nice, and the H2s innerds, hard plastic and all, are one of my favorite features of the big truck. I can imagine that a next-gen H2 has alot of potential.

It will take a long time before lemming car reviewers stop insulting GM interiors, but it will happen.

In the first year, there will be two engine options, the 3.6L and a 3.5L (hooked to the good old 4L transaxle). Next year, you all might just see a Hybrid. Retail productions starts in late July, but we have dozens of saleable captured test vehicles running around town. In fact, have two in the back right now, along with some other nifty cars and trucks, and one has a very interesting engine with this big thing sitting on top that sucks in massive qualtities of air.:D Can't figure out exactly what the devil is.:D

Regardless of what the reality is, the precived impression of many people is that Saturn is a low end "cheap" vehicle. That doesn't mean that they don't make a good vehicle, or can't change that image. But right now, people are more likely to choose an Acura over a Saturn all things being equal. I really don't see what others think comes into it.

I've experienced that opinion towards Saturns from many people. Honestly, until the SKY, I would never have even remotely considered driving a Saturn.

I should add that I think the Outlook will be a nice vehicle too, though Buick and GMC, and maybe Chevy will have something like it (ENOUGH OF THE CLONES!), and the PreVUE looks pretty interesting.

I've always had the precived impression that Saturn made a good car at a reasonable price:confused: ... Now who wouldn't rather have the Acura......but if you couldnt afford it should that mean that you should feel "embarassed" to drive it because it says saturn???????????

Thats the same type of attitude I see with a lot of people around here and it's a shame. People worried more about other peoples **** and what other people are driving then worrying about the fact that I'm at home banging their wife because they are to obsessed with their fancy shmancy cars and money........

Sure hasn't slowed down Kia's sales has it? :p

I do agree that most people, given the choice, would buy a vehicle with the name Acura or something along those lines on it before buying a Saturn but not everyone will have that choice.

X2 on the value for the money image with Kia. They have done a great job marketing their vehicles this way. Really have not talked to enough people about Saturns to get a feel for the overall image.

they only have a overall bad image to people that feel their car is a extension of their penis..........I know soooooooo many people that have owned them and continued to buy them because they were reliable, got killer gas mileage, and were honeslty quite peppy.......... let me add to my amazingly long list of epic virtues possessed by the H2: it causes more conversation about peniss than would occur in a room full of recently divorced women and male strippers.

and people that wonder why they went from 2 and 4 door versions of one cool car to 417 different cars that range from complete crap to... miatas?

phil is right, saturn has a bad image the way Geo once did or Yugo (well not that extreme).

And i basically second whatever questions were raised about "why is saturn going high end?". But whatever the case, that interior looks great. :)
