10 months,12,600 miles .Rear wiper blade worn already:eek: .I only used the rear wiper about 10 to 12 times ? It should have lasted at least a year:mad:

I was planning on replacing front ones with a carbon fiber type. They dont make one in 12 inch though.I probobly will just replace the rubber with a high quality one.

Damn, I only tried mine once. It's kinda embarassing and I don't want other people to see it only wipes half of the glass.

Usualy by the time I need to use the rear wiper it's time to wash the truck.
With the heat and cold in Utah I usualy change mine every spring and fall.

I've replaced the front already, and I ran snow blades in the summer. Not only is heat a killer, but the polution in the air is destroying blades faster. GM recommends every six months, regardless of miles and use.
This vehicle is not unusual, I replaced my Vette and Jeep wipers about twice a year.
I have found rainex to be pretty good.

Just got back from auto barn I ordered 2 PIAA Super Silicone Wiper Blades Carbon Fiber. they list the same # for both and came up as 17 inch when ordered.
Will the 17 inch fit on both sides?
They said if the one dont fit they can get me a 16 inch.
They should get them in a day or two.

I picked up a 12 inch in black with a super graphite blade for the back, they dont make a PIAA Super Silicone Wiper Blades Carbon Fiber in 12 inch.

Has anyone tried the Bosch wipers, the ones they're putting on more and more cars? I think the Escalade has them.

I believe the new Escalade uses the new blades from the other Caddy's that is made by Valeo. Replacement blades are $20.00 someone told me. They wipe better with no streaks, but the rubber will wear out just like the old fashioned blades. So, are they worth the extra price?
As to the size, per GM, the driver side is 16.7, the passenger side is 15.7 (don't ask me where these engineers come up with these odd sizes :D ), however I put a 16 inch on the driver's side, and have not noticed the .7 inches not being wiped (.35 bottom, .35 top since the blade is centered). For winter I used a 17 and a 16 for winter blades with no problem. However, you might run into some problem with a 17 inch on the passenger side, I believe from my un-scientific measurements in freezing weather a few months ago, that 17 might rub up or go over the top trim.

One thing you may try to extend the life of your blades... When (if) you use Windex to clean your glass... Spray some extra on a heavy duty paper towel and pinch the windex soaked paper towel on the wiper blade. Pull the towel back and forth up and down the blade. You'll notice the towel turns black with the oxidation of the rubber... But it exposes a fresh part of the wiper blade. I can usually extend the life of the wiper blades by several months by doing this.

Try it out and see...

Thats a trick from way back,I been doing that automaticaly since my first car, I also use alcohol sometimes.
That rear blade still didnt last a year.

Little bit of rain this morning.the PIAA blades work great.
After install (they came with a widow cleaning pad probobly alcohol)Directions said to run them dry for a few minutes. The blades put a coating on windshield to repel water.Says run them dry once a month after cleaning.

Do you think these blades will fit on the H2? I see them on Amazon.com for $18.99.
