Do you have to have the invite to go? I bought mine in Portland @ Vic Alfonso, but that's the only free weekend I have for the next couple months.

Oh, and are you guys going for the morning or afternoon/late morning run?
H3 Hummer
06-12-2006, 03:02 PM
Miguel, I was thinking about going to both but will ask the guy if I can when I register. It might be to early for the morning so I might just go the afternoon one like you - we should most definetly go together.
Doc, I am not sure how far the dirt trails go back there but I think it's probably about 1 hour to 1.5 hours highway driving.

Hey, it's the Saturday after a Friday, expect more of my drinking skeels. Plus this will be the first hard-core wheeling I've done w/the H3. Most has been mild off-road to go camping, etc. Don't have too high expectations
EDIT: And I have a broken wrist. It may not affect my driving but at this point, I'm prepping my excuses for rolling the H3 in the 1st half hour (smashed up my Jeep pretty good 1st time I took it rock crawling, let's hope history doesn't repeat itself).

Looks like I'm going to make it. My H3 still hasn't come (should be any day now), but McCann's giving me a loaner for the weekend. How cool is that? I'm in the morning session, but it looks like both sessions eat lunch at the same time.

I'm in the red one with roof rack, dirty and no mirror.
Miguel, my wifes friends might go so I don't know when I will leave. You still wanna drive down together?

Cool. My loaner is white with full chrome (blech! :p) No, I went through Rich Hawkins at McCann's. He's definately the best sales guy I've ever worked with, too.

Nice to see old faces and meet some new folks! :) I think WannabeH3 got the award for dirtiest Hummer.
I didn't break anything this time - just one little dent. My new front tow hitch didn't scrape at all! :D

Hey man, nice meeting you & wannabe. Too bad I couldn't meet anyone from the earlier session. Gotta get back up there and drive through some more mud :)
I'll get pics up tomorrow, took a few, not nearly a many as you. Time to go drink some more, get wasted at Josh's house, throw up, pass out, and hope I can make it to work on Monday. Later! :D :D

Good times. I got to hang out with Mark805 in the morning session and meet WannabeH3 and H3Hummer at lunch. It's great to be able to put faces with you characters. :D After seeing Mark's Toyo's in action, I think I've identified my first upgrade. And after playing with his Z1, I've identifed my other first upgrade. Thanks Mark! (although my wife is cursing you).
The loaner I had didn't have the adventure package, but I was pretty amazed at how well it could do everything with the smaller tires and no locker. Just a little less elegantly in some spots, is all. Looking forward to the next adventure with my own rig.
