After lurking about for some time, I pulled the trigger. I wanted to stop in and say whats up to everyone. I really appreciate the great information I got from all of you. It helped me out in the decision. I guess I need to share my time between here and audizine.com now...

Traded 2004 A4 Avant for a
2006 H3 Superior Blue/Ebony/Adventure/Chrome/Chrome Steps/Sunroof/Roof Air Bags

I picked it up last week and I have enjoyed it every day since. I drive about an hour each way to work and go from dirt roads to the city and it has been great. I did have the old "traction control failed" come on twice but its off now. Other than that I have zero regrets. I cant wait to start modding it. It was upsetting returning my Audi back to stock but the H3 should be fun.

I will talk to you all soon and I will post some pics when I get them. Thanks Again!

Chris

Cool. My H3 isn't arriving for a few more days, but I'm switching from an Audi, too. I just turned in my Allroad at the end of its lease a few days ago. As I was going through the rigmarole at the dealer, about 5 different people (salesmen and managers) asked me what I was getting next. I have to admit I was hesitant to fess up at first, but I eventually stood proud and told them. I got pretty stodgy, dissaproving looks all around, except for one young guy behind a counter who overheard and gave me a thumbs up and a, "Yeah!". ... Then he got the evil eye.

Thanks Newb:

I had to look it up in Wikipedia:
"An alter ego (from Latin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latin), "other I") is another self, a second personality (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personality) or persona (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persona) within a person. The term is commonly used in literature analysis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Literary_criticism) and comparison to describe characters who are psychologically (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychologically) identical. A related concept/idea is that of the doppelg?nger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doppelg%C3%A4nger).
The term and concept also frequently appear in popular fiction (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiction), such as in comic books (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comic_book), for the secret identity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secret_identity) of a superhero (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superhero), vigilante (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vigilante), crimefighter or drama (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drama)"

I have seen VW commercials lately that advertise "lowest ego emissions". Talk about how to sell cars to liberals!

Best regards, Happy Jack

Thanks for the welcome guys...

As far as mods, I would like to do a small lift with some nice deep wheels and meaty tires. Then maybe the exhaust. I think that would be a good start. I know most everyone is anti-bling around here but I like the small amount of chrome I have. I think you can pull of a nice truck with chrome and and off road look. I wont be going to the 24" big homies, but a nice 18" chrome or polished off road wheel with off road tires looks good.
