WASHINGTON (AP) -- Flooding from a weekend of heavy rain shut down the Justice Department and other major federal buildings Monday, and created a nightmare for commuters with washed-out roads, mud blocking the Capital Beltway and delays on the area's rail lines. Rains soak capital region, close offices, highways, rail lines

By MARTY NILAND / Associated Press
Storms that drenched the capital region with more than 7 inches of rain on Monday closed government offices, highways and commuter rail lines.
Although the federal government remained open, several buildings were closed because of flooding, including the Internal Revenue Service headquarters, the Justice Department and the National Archives. Despite the high water, archives spokeswoman Susan Cooper said all records and national treasures remained "safe and dry."

Its OK Ken. Just hop in your truck and drive up here. Its warm, I promise. Tomorrow night is horse shoes at the bar. Thursday is open. Friday we'll begin preparing for the 4'th, and go on the lake. Saturday We'll go get allot of fireworks, then back to the lake. Sunday we'll go on the lake, same with Monday. Tuesday we'll go on the lake during the day fire works til about 11 or so, followed by massive alcohol consumption. Oh and I forgot, during the evenings starting Friday and going through Monday we will be partying.
Sounds very boring, Carey.:( ;)
Poor Rocks is probably going to have a nasty drive tomorrow and I hope it didn't rain on them today. They were at an amusement park.:(
Back Bay is in VB.
Winds cause flooding in Back Bay area
04:09 PM EDT on Tuesday, June 27, 2006
By Dottie Wikan, WVEC.com
Emergency planners in Hampton Roads and across much of Virginia talked about how to cope with more downpours and a weather system that's developing off North Carolina's coast.

The wind tide at Back Bay caused flooding at a low-lying campground at Sandbridge.
"We're looking at two to four more inches of rain," Mark Marchbank, deputy coordinator for emergency management with the City of Va. Beach, told WVEC.com following the 2:15 p.m. confererence call.
He said the next high tide is at 11:26 p.m., so the city will be monitoring the southern part of the city, including the Back Bay/Sandbridge area, for flooding. http://www.wvec.com/news/topstories/stories/L_IMAGE.10c152b4e38.93.88.fa.d0.1d94f9d.jpg

We got like 5 inches in a few hours here last week. Even made the news. It was fun driving the Hummer through it till they closed done the roads.
Atleast they haven't done that here... yet....
Winds out of the north are really bad for us. All the water in the Chesapeake Bay gets pushed right to our back door. A hurricane or nor'easter just off the coast is terrible.
