I am just at about 8,500 miles now and noticed a little uneven wear on the outside edge of my left front tire, plus with the vehicle driving straight, the wheel is slightly cocked to the right.
I have no nearby dealer to go to, and there is a good alignment shop here in town.
Questions:
Are there any special alignment tricks with the H3?
Is there a printout or step by step guide I can access for re-mating the tire pressure sensors once the wheels are rotatedmoved? For instance, if I want to rotate in the spare, will the rim sensor still sense at 50psi, or is the sensor that checks for 50psi located in the spare mount assembly?
Is there some special reset I need to do once the tires are rotated?

I believe there is a TPM thread on this site, you may find what you seek in the owners manual??

Here's the thread you are looking for...

I don't think the truck senses the spare tire pressure. There is a procedure for after rotating the tires so the vehicle will read the 4 on the ground. It's in the owners manual. Page 5-62 TPMS Sensor Identification Codes

Thank you for the link. Good thing I looked because F5Fstop had new alignment info that is different from the manual.

Also, I did not see the procedure for reseting the tire sensors in the manual.

This is from the PDF manual I downloaded from GM owners center.

The TPM sensor matching procedure is outlined below:
1. Set the parking brake.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON with the engine off.
3. Turn the exterior lamp switch from AUTO to
ON four times within three seconds. A double horn
chirp will sound and the TPMS low tire warning
light will begin to flash. The double horn chirp and
flashing TPMS warning light indicates the TPM
matching process has started. The TPMS warning
light should continue flashing throughout the
matching procedure. The SERV TPM message will
be displayed on the Driver Information Center (DIC).
4. Start with the left (driver’s side) front tire.
5. Remove the valve cap from the valve cap stem.
Activate the TPMS sensor by increasing or
decreasing the tire’s air pressure for 10 seconds,
then stop and listen for a single horn chirp.
The single horn chirp should sound within
15 seconds, confirming that the sensor identification
code has been matched to this tire and wheel
position. If you do not hear the confirming single
horn chirp, you will need to start over with step
number one. To let air-pressure out of a tire you can
use the pointy end of the valve cap, a pencil-style
air pressure gage or a key.
6. Proceed to the right (passenger’s side) front tire,
and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
7. Proceed to the right (passenger’s side) rear tire,
and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
8. Proceed to the left (driver’s side) rear tire, and
repeat the procedure in Step 5.
9. After hearing the confirming horn chirp for the left
rear tire, check to see if the TPMS warning light is
still flashing. If yes, turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
10. Set all four tires to the recommended air pressure
level as indicated on the Tire and Loading
Information label.
11. Put the valve caps back on the valve stems.

You have to do all that every time you rotate your tires??

What a Pain!

Can't I just pull a fuse?

No wonder the dealer didn't want to rotate my tires at 3,000 miles!

Just go to discount tire and let them do it. pay $80.00 for a LIFE TIME BALANCE AND ROTATION AND THEY SET THEM EVERY TIME ITS WORTH IT LIFE TIME DO IT THAT WAY WHATS $ 80.000 FOR ALL THAT.then you can go in there every 3 or 4 thousand miles also.break THAT DOWN AND ITS ONLY AROUND 6 OR 7 DOLLARS EVERY TIME.

Trouble is, at 2000 miles and $3 per gallon for a round trip to the discount tire store, it's 4 days and $400 each trip to do that.

Thank you deserth3 for the tpm reset procedure!

There is a decent tire place here, but they do not have access to the alignment numbers f5f stop provided. I can do the TPM reset myself, now that I know the procedure.

I think I may avoid the whole rotation thing and order a set of Toyo 35's.
Will the 12.5" width fit without giving up too much turning radius, or do I need to go with the 10.5" ones?

When the tires come in, I will go ahead and have the torsion bars turned and then an alignment done.

Now I am excited!!!!
