Hi all!

First, I would like to thank my father for helping me get a H2 SUT earlyer than I had planned. With out his offer and help I would still be jonesing and saving all my beer money for a couple more years! Thanks Pop!!

Here is a pic of my 05 ride as I got it. Was going to wait untill the racks showed and post before and after pic's, but I could'nt wait! :)

The dealer and sales people were very nice and curtius to us "country folk" and gave us VIP treatment (all the soda and coffee we could drink and a nice leather couch to chill on) the whole deal was not stressfull at all. (no one tried to push tons of useless crap add on's while we were there)

The trip back was good to go. We stopped at the Painted desert / Pertrified forest, what a site to see. Caught only a few one finger salutes from some hippies. When we were coming out of one of the museums I basically caught them walking away from the truck with a camera. So I'm pretty sure a pic will show up eventually on fuh2 website..heh. All the park Rangers gave us the thumbs up so that was cool. Funny thing, leaving the park some other hippies were getting searched then arrested by the "man" for steeling rocks from the park. ( thats envornmentaly friendly for ya ;) )

I took the advice of some of the forum members and rolled into the throttle and coasted to slow down and brake, set the cruse at 65 and got 16.8 MPG on the trip. :)

Sorry this post is so long, I just wanted to share my first true hummer experiance with you all. I'm still amased that it's sitting in the drive way..:D Woot!!

Non-bling of course :P

Im gonna have lots of fun wheelin this. :D

I have a gobi roof rack for my spare and a tonue cover rack coming. I'm going to rino-line (or the equivilant) the rims and 1/3 up onto the doors. Replace the chrome gas cover with black. Dump the side step ups and make some type of quick release small steps for the rock rails. A lift is in the future and new tires on custom made aluminum rims out of a Co.in Utah . Comp chip, after market air filter assembly, custom tuned headers and exhaust..I have some friends in upstate NY were im from, that have a pretty nice auto fab shop..Should be takin a trip to Canada then to NY around the end of August to get some of the finer things fabed..

Its all coming together finally after years of "look at that hummer, there goes a hummer, hey another hummer :p "

I drove 1200+ closer to 1300 mile's to get my average. 99.99% of the miles were Highway. I just read what was said about fuel economy here on the forum. I rolled into the throttle very gently up to speed (max 65 mph ) didnt use any AC, set my cruse control at 65mph. Rolled with all 5 windows open, cranked the tunes and used the moto "drive slow so all the chicks had longer to look" :D and after the math my average was 16.8 mpg no BS. Got all my fuel at flying J used my fequent fuel card. I was very suprized. Several sections of the highway were under construction and at speeds of 50 and below. I made sure to follow the speed limit. I wont lie and say their wasnt times when I wasnt sweating a little ..heh. I just took off my shirt and coverd the seat with it and chugged along at speed.. I think 65 mph max and slowly rolling up to speed then setting my cruse were key..the trip was on I-40 basically, not many hills to speak of. I didnt have any time frame to get home since I work for myself. So no rush was probably my secret. ;)

Thxs for the thumbs up... The colour is desert sand? Looks more like OD green in person .(I live in a desert, lots of sand around here ..heh). No complants.:D .. I origanally wanted the forest green colour but was told they didnt paint that in 05 SUT form.

Congrats on your new ride. But driving that slow for record fuel economy takes more patience than I have.
