There won't be any either.

I left the dealer and started having issues on the way bacck to Denver. Today the truck went to my local dealer to be looked at.
There arer quite a few issues...most cosmetic.
I am taking the H1 back to the selling dealer and getting my H2 back.

This truck looks great from a distance and in pics! Rides good. Handles good. Not even close to as plush inside as an H2 or H3 though.
Cosmetic inside sucks, engine is up for debate. It has enough power (not a rocket) but OK for merging into traffic.

The interior panels on mine are all warped...except for the drsd door. There is a water leak on the pssd front door somewhere. I found that on the way home too. Now there is black smoke on startup and a CTIS leak that looses about 4lbs overnight. Not a good first week of having this thing.

Other than that, the H1 is cool! But not cool enough for me to keep. I can't wait to get my H2 back. The dealer has agreed to swap the deal back. If all works out like they have promised, I have nothing but good things to say about them. We'll see.

Just a word of advice. Take drty with you back to the dealer. I saw on an earlier thread what he did to an Element and can imagine what he would do to the sales guy if they try and screw you ;) :)

Just kidding man that sucks. I really was excited (for you) having gotten the truck. Did they have others there that could be a better deal??? Were these problems common for that year???

Mostly cosmetic issues!!! Not plushy enough!!! Smokes on start up!!! OMG...even a WATER LEAK!!!

Get REAL, it's a USED Diesel Powered REAL HUMMER SOFT/OPEN TOP model with 25,000 (maybe many Off-road) miles on it...but what really sucks is that the WORLD'S #1 (REAL) HUMMER DEALER (as determined year after year by REAL HUMMER OWNERS, not by GM-HUM-BUDS) would ever consider letting people like this purchase a REAL HUMMER! Jim Lynch, I am very disappointed to say the least!!! sorry but I could have told you. Fit and finish is not the strong factor and it will never be nice riding or posh like the H2. I drove an 04 for 3 months as a demo and some of what your saying is normal.

Damn Tim, I thought you knew the H1's capability was a trade-off with creature comforts. It was never really designed to be a cruiser. I guess I should have let you ride/drive mine first. Sorry you were disappointed, but at least you're back in the H2.

p.s. Please remove the 'POS' moniker from your sig or I will crush you  ;)

The comfort wasn't bad.. don't get me wrong. It wasn't as comfy as an H2, but the reasons were just beyond loose cosmettic panels. The water leak pissed me off, yes, but the engine/ turbo was having issues. A little smoke out of a deisel.... big deal. Enough black smoke to clear out a 10 acre lot of mosquitos, not good. Over heating over 70mph was another issue along with visble corosion on much of the wires.

This ONE was not taken care of properly and I wasn't willing to go through the entire truck to make it realiable. In the end, that H1 was very sweet ride! I will have one some day if I find "that perfect one."

H1's still rock in my book, but this one wasn't going to be part of daily routines.

Or in your case it would be you arguing with your husband. Don't be butthurt just because everyone doesn't completely fall for the H1 mystique. Hell, I've come very close to buying an H1 several times. Then I snap out of my trance and smile with the knowledge that my H2 will do 99.9% of the wheeling that the H1 will and I'll be 200% more comfortable. The H1 was a great rig, but evolution even applies to the automotive world.

If it weren't for H2's and H3's, there would be no dealers left to fix the H1's.

I guess this means that the real HUMMERS are now H2/3's, since the H1 isn't made anymore.

I think the real reason they aren't made anymore is due to the fact this world couldn't handle any more stuck up a$$holes!

At least the H1 owners I know are cool!:D

Tim, your continued quest to some day become a member of the elite REAL HUMMER Owners Club is commendable and should serve as an inspiration to those other less fortunates.:D

To show my heart is in the right place, you may now freely interchange the word ?ORIGINAL?:D with ?REAL?:D preceding HUMMER. No, there is no need to thank me Tim, you earned it!!!

As you may have noticed there is an H and a 1 in my username. It is there only in remembrance of how badly GM trashed:mad: the HUMMER name.

The parting question for today?s post is:

Did you by chance put some GASOLINE:eek: in that 2004 DIESEL powered REAL (optional) ORIGINAL HUMMER to create that black smoke screen???

Comfort is relative. It is different to everyone.

You right automotive evolution does happen look at the new GL class mercedes.

I heard that also.

Funny thing I heard at a car show once when Benz started bringing in the vehicle themselves (instead of Europa). Guy looked at the G-Wagen and said, "It looks to much like a Military Vehicle." I almost said something but my grin/laugh was to noticeable, and my wife said just walk away.

I have nothing against you at all Tim, and I really like your collection of the Hummer Line but.... Do you know who EXH1X5 is? He keeps it a secret but I know he lives in South Bend. He knows a lot about H1's for a reason.

As for you returning the truck. I would have also. Can't blame you for it at all. I would have done the same thing. Especially if it happened to me. I waited 10 years for my truck and if it wasn't what I expected I would have gave it back also. No reason to spend a lot of money on something and to not have it perform/act the way that it should.

Uhmmm, No? I don't know who he or she is? It doesn't really matter. The entertainment value of thread has gone up a little since his or her posts. :D

Your last paragraph pretty much sums up how I feel. Since I drove an H1 over 9 years ago, I have wanted one! This was going to be my long awaited truck. This one just wasn't it for me. AFter the price I paid for it, found out the quality of this particular truck (mechanical or cosmetic), it was going back. It was a lot of money for me and would have costed even more to get the truck to the way I wanted it. I have nothing against H1's or the owners themselves.... just the bad ones.... that's all.... you not being included in that along with the H1 owners I met in Moab on the last trip. Great rigs/ Great people!

Since I drove an H1 over 9 years ago, I have wanted one!

Tim, Tim, Tim,:( I waited very patiently for you to correct your (above) statement, but you did not. Now go to the back of the class; take a seat AND THIS TIME PAY ATTENTION!!!!

There was no way possible on GM?s Green Earth you drove an ?H1? over 9 years ago?PERIOD! Your statement proves beyond a reasonable doubt that you were a ready, willing and able VICTIM of a GM marketing ploy!

It was not until January 2000 that GM?s marketing geniuses (yah right!:lame: ) found some way to LINK whatever THEY wanted to call a ?hummer? to THE REAL HUMMER. Of course the way they tried to do it was through their ?H? numbering game! Did you not recognize their scheme before it came up and gnawed you (and many others too) in the wallet?!?!? :violin:

Naturally GM had to kill the ?Gas Guzzling? REAL HUMMER to complete their ?shell-name-game.? Tim, do know the 2006 GM H2 & H3?s actually ?guzzle? 100% MORE GAS than the 2006 REAL HUMMER? It is hard to believe, Tim, there are actually people out there who do not understand why GM marketing geniuses (yah right!:lame: ) two years ago decided to call THE REAL HUMMER (formerly known as the H1, formerly known as the HUMMER) the ?ALPHA.?

Many people don?t even realize the H-two-zees just started production again last week! IF?the price of gas continues to fall, maybe, just maybe your loved H-two-zees will be built a little longer.:crying:

Like I promised before, I will continue to work with you until some day you become a REAL/GENUINE/ORIGINAL HUMMER OWNER:excited:
