Hello all. I am looking for some who might be interested in trading their Hummer H2 for my supercharged 2004 GTO. It makes 575 HP, that's 501 rwhp and 445 rwtq. It just turned 11K miles and is in mint condition. Color is black with black leather and is of course fully loaded as all GTO's are. I get 21mpg city and 25mpg highway, slightly less with the A/C on. It's a souther car with zero rust (Savannah, GA), looking for the same in the H2 (southeast).

Lots of pictures and even a video is available here.

So there is interest but too afraid to do the deed. I guess the wifes are more powerful then we thought.

Ken, she must love the H2 more then you. j/k!

Remember I will drive to your front door and we can swap titles if you're within 500-600 miles of Savannah, GA.

Who in there right mind would trade there HUMMER, for a GTO......

ARE YOU NUTS!

You might want to take your car over to the Honda Suped Up forum.com

Let me set you straight. Not everyone keeps the same vehicle forever. Most only 2-3 years. Next, if I wanted a Hummer I go to a Hummer forum, not a Honda forum.

Man, you guys know how to welcome a new member.

Selling the GTO has proved difficult at best. I'm sure some of you are having the same trouble with the H2's.

I really want to trade, that would make it so much easier.

I did notice that there are very, very few H2's for sale in this classified section. Are I looking in the wrong website?

Try ebay or just go trade it in at the dealer for an H2.

Only 10% of vehicles listed on ebay actually sell. There is no way I'd take a car to a dealer for trade in, they won't give you anything for it then sell it for a huge profit.

Around here an 04 goat, loaded, brings around $25k. The fact that it is blown and makes hella power reduces it's appeal to most people (you may have driven it hard).

We may not know what our Hummers are worth, but we do know how much we have in them. See where this is going?

Don't give up though. Someone may be tired of buying fuel. Or looking for a parking place big enough.

I doubt you will find a good Hummer for a straight up trade though.

That's funny, I have it advertised on autotrader, several GM performance forums and a couple other forums for vehicles I'm interested in (like the Hummer) and just recently dropped my asking price to $25,000. It's amazing that you see all stock '04 GTO selling for $25K in your area.

I have $35K+ in mine with the performance upgrades, none of which affect the drive-ability of the car. It performs just like stock untill the gas is pushed quickly causing boost to build, then hang on because it is an animal.

I know no-one knows how I treat my GTO, and likewise I don't know how you members treat your Hummers. All we can do is take someones word for truth unless they give you a reason not to. Hummers can be abused just like a high-performance sports car.

I'll keep checking back every so often, maybe someone will step up for a trade or a trade plus maybe a little cash from me. Speaking of gas milage, I get 21mpg city and 25mpg highway. :) That's amazing considering the amount of power on tap at all times.

The dealership i bought my H2 from also carries pontiac and the gm(which is a buddy of mine) told me they couldnt give one away. Unfortunately limited demand of new GTO's would surely give you an idea of the demand for a used GTO. That being said, your car will take a particular individual but for that individual your car is his/her dream car. Good luck!

LOL! They couldn't give them away? That's so funny. I know because dealers across the country tried a dealer markup above MSRP when the first ones came out. No one bought into their scam and the cars sat there unsold. Shortly after that the newer '05's came out and everyone wanted them due to the changes (bigger engine, etc....). Now the '04's were clearanced out to make room for the '05's. Sales were slow on both years even still because dealers weren't budging from MSRP and if they did it was only a small amount.

Sales were never expected to be high. It was also known to be a 3 year production run even before the first ones hit the shores here. GM contracted Holden for the three year run with limited production numbers. That means if everyone wanted one they couln't because only "x" amount were to ever be produced.

That being said to back up the bad publicity behind teh GTO I thank you for taking the time and reading my post.

Sorry, your '05 SUT would be nice but I'm SURE it's out of my budget. I can only do a straight trade or maybe a trade and a little cash, not lots of cash....

I didn't miss it. It's not for trade, it's for sale. I have my GTO for sale or trade. I can't buy anything unless the GTO sells.

According to some of your other posts on other forums, it seems that a Hummer is not your first choice. Apparently you want an SRT-10 truck more so than an H2.

Though my best friend drives an SRT-10, there is no way I'd trade my H2 for one.

Yeah, it must be great. Since you are willing to trade it so easily.... Really man, lower your price to 20K and sell the car.. then put that money down on a H2...Nobody is going to trade you. Most people here are more than happy with their hummers..

Right now I could care less if someone from this forum traded me. You are all worthless from the reception I have received so far as a new member. :twak:

number 1, its the internet. Calm down. You will run into smartasses on any forum.

2. You came in quite cocky about your car. If its so awesome, why on earth are you trying to get rid of it? certianly not for fuel economy as you pointed out.

Not nearly as many on my GTO forums, the SRT forums and the others I have belonged to. In fact, only the 4th gem Camaro guys (1993-2002 years) are as smartass as the members on this H2 forum.

I am selling because I do not keep a vehicle more then 2 years. I just get tied of them and want something different. I havn't owned a truck or large SUV yet so I thought I'd sell and buy one or if someone wanted to trade then all the better. Unless you have drived a solid 575hp car before you have no idea why it could be so "awesome". As with everything you get used to it and it's boring. I mean come now, on the street 99% of vehicles can't touch it.

geeroy10
08-28-2006, 03:37 AM
I used to race super late models, just not on the street. I know what you mean, I get tired of vehicles too..I think you would have better luck trying to sell your GTO for 20-25K and then look for an 03 with 70K or so...You should only have to come up with 5K or so...

You are not getting 21mpg unless you nurse it around. And why would you do that?

The GTO I test drove, 05, had major electrical issues during the test drive. I went zero to 120-140 in like 15ft and 2 seconds(according to the speedo, I was really just in the parking lot at like 5-10mph). Then the speedo droped to zero and everything blinked off then back on, This happened several times during the drive, but I didn't care I just wanted to get on it.Maybe that's why they don't sell. They do sound good, like a vette..haaaay wait a min

Good Luck

Well, I'm glad you know more about my car then I do.

I don't baby it either, by contrast it isn't abused (brake stands, long burnouts, etc...). I've grown up well past that stage being almost 40 now.

I get 21mpg city and 25mpg highway. With the air conditioning on it drops about 1mpg. These numbers come straight off the instrument panels information center. It's all in the dyno tuning. I get better then stock because the stock programming was way too rich.

That's not a major electrical issue. Just a softwware glitch. A simple instrument panel re-programming takes care of all those things. The earlier software was slightly flawed. It has been revised. Not all GTO's were effected.

Speaking of Corvette, it is the exact same drivetrain as a vette except we have a backseat that's very usable.
