After using the search function (yay noob!;) ) I have learned that a cat back steals hp from the I5. Most people are pleased with the K&N air intake except it is louder, and most of what is available for H3 performance is snake oil. My questions:
1. Where to buy performance upgrades, who do you guys support?
2. Besides K&N, any other cold air intake kits?
3. Anybody make a power programmer (i.e. Hypertech)? My Hypertech on my Dodge truck bumped performance and allowed me to reset the speedo to 35" tires!
4. Any other suggested performance mods? I know that with each piece of bling I gain 1-2 hp! :D

I bought my K&N intake from www.jegs.com. It was almost 100 bucks cheaper than a local retailer and free shipping($10 processing fee). I have no confirmation, but have heard that a power programmer is in the works.

Mmm claimed 15hp increase. That's just small enough so that the average person will never notice the difference or be able to verify.
At this point the only reliable method is to trade a 2006 for a 2007 H3.

got my TB spacer and volant there, although you need to trim about 3/4" off the volant pipe to get it to work w/TB spacer.
I used the maganflow system and had the head pipe opened by a local shop using pieces of the original cat back system, got the magnaflow off ebay for $500
Got the plugs from sparkplugs.com listed under chey colorado.
These all together made a HUGE difference off the line and even better at WOT. Power is up about 15WHP on the butt dyno.
I had a Jet chip on one of my cars and it dynoed on a dyno jet good for 10WHP before and after pulls. I will get one for the H3 when they come out.
If you want real power, try the custom 375HP supercharger from dashworks in Denver, but it is $6500.

I am not sure about the K&N if you drive off road. Water and mud all over it. Hmm... Dont sound good.
