I have one of the cheapo clinometer (land meter) I need a positive wire for the light that will run off the headlights.
Is there any in or around dash compartment,I dont want to run it to the fuse box.

Im planing on removing the swivel base and than velcro it to the top of the mirror (flush to top) than just running the wire along headliner and down the piller to the dash. The wire is thin so it should just stick in without any removal of piller.

When offroading I will have to square off and level the mirror,I wont be able to see out it at that angle(cant see out it too good anyway:D )
I can always use the rear cam to see behind me:cool:

Try the dash lights.

Why run it off the headlights, easiest would be to pick up the hot wire in the A-pillar and light it all the time.

What wire would work that goes off the key ?

will any of the cluster wire's work ?
not a big deal to run the wire to them.

I don't have any tips, but just wondering where you got the clinometer? I have seen a couple that just do rolling angle.

the gray wire on the I/P connector (location B4) is the illumination wire from the BCM and should work. But i always try not to tap into any wires from the BCM if possible. It is the BCM supply voltage. Probably not a highly monitored circuit, so a few extra low amp bulbs should be ok.

The larger yellow wire running up the A-pillar is a RAP circuit wire for your sunroof module.

Thanks F5 I will either use that yellow one in pillar or go to cluster under dash if theres a light wire there.
I rather hook it up with the light if possibile.

Is there a wire in the cluster under dash,I know I picked up a ground there and a constant + I have going to a relay .I thought one of those were lights.
I will take a look tonight when I get home.

H3slate I got it on ebay under $13.00 shipped

I ended up getting the power from the 2nd gray wire that goes to the rear wipper switch. It works off the light circut that way lights on clinometors on.:D

I had to remove the swivel base and hack saw off a plastic collor to make the bottom flush.I used thin 3M double sided tape(gray) to mount to the top of the mirror(velcro was not as secure)

Not bad for $12.95

Its somewhat level (little off) in the normal mirror viewing position.

On level ground it can be adjusted level if I square off mirror and angle up slightly before off roading.(cant see out the mirror in that position)

Pics are in my driveway (driveway is on a angle up and down to the right, normal viewing position)
