It comes with a Luxury package.. I'll tell you this much about it: The sounds quality is pretty good, midrange is pronounced, bass and treble fairly clear. Speakers are tuned very well, to the point where you can really tell that XM quality is so much inferior to the CD sound quality. Bad thing is that the changer does not have MP3 support, kind of stupid since you pay more for the changer... Overall was it worth the money - probably yes, because you would've spent about 1500 for aftermarket stuff to match the sound quality you get.

The monsoon comes with any upgraded radio (six disk changer, MP3 or Nav).

Is it a "must have" option??? Probably not. Does it sound good? Yes. Am I happy that I have it? Yes.
Would I choose of over rocker bars or UCP? No.
In the grand scheme of things its pretty nice. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It sounds really good IMHO. I have it with the single disc MP3 stereo. If you like your music a little louder once in awhile with a subwoofer while retaining a stock appearance, it is a must, but I'm sure you could accomplish the same or better with aftermarket products though it probably never one that look like stock, nor have all of the big buttons and knobs of the stock head unit, even if the button paint does wear off.
I don't know why GM's MP3 compatibility is so varied for their different makes / models. The G6 has an in-dash changer that reads mp3 discs, and a few of the small "hip" models like the HHR have a line-in jack. Even though I have resisted the ipod so-far, it would be nice to control one with the factory head unit.

I have the a Lux package but I had them switch the 6cd for the MP3 version (I perfer 120-150 songs per cd rather than 6 individual cd's).
The monsoon is well worth it. It blows away the Bose in my Audi.

I have the monsoon in mine and am very impressed with it. At this point I think this will be the first vehicle that I have ever owned that I did not completely redo the sound system. Sure, it does not sound as good as my systems in the past but I also didn't spend $5K + to get it to sound as good as it does.

I have the Monsoon and am very happy with it. Best stock radio I've had in any of my vehicles.

I am guess here but would say you have to remove the drives side panel in the cargo area.

I have the Monsoon Radio and Speakers and would put the sound quality on a par with the top end units you can buy at a car stereo shop. I am very happy with it and feel it is well worth the money.
