im going to colorado next week and have some warranty items that need fixing before i go. my truck is still under warranty, and i bought it private party from a guy who bought the truck from grapevine hummer. thing is, i need a loaner while its getting fixed. sewell said since "I" didn't buy it from them, they won't give me a loaner. :twak: anyone at either of these dealerships that would be able to get me one?????? PLEASE????

oh, and one of the problems with a warranty item is that the battery leaked acid and it went through the wheel well and on to the suspension components and all that is starting to erode and rust. they said the battery wont be covered under warranty. truck has about 24,000 miles and is an '03. i thought the battery would be covered? it's got an extended warranty on it for 5 years or 50,000 miles.

disregard, apparently hummer grapevine doesn't mind if you purchased through them or not. sewell on the other hand, only takes care of you if you purchase from them. Thanks HUMMER grapevine!:perfect10s:
Good to hear you're dealership is taking care of you.
BRICKBAT to Sewell.

How is that bad business? To me it would seem to make more sense to give a loan car to someone who has spent money with you and has a relationship with you rather than have a loyal customer be forced to wait because you just gave out your last loan car to someone who didn't even buy the car from you.

I appreciate the fact Sewell always has an H3 loaner for me everytime I go in. I get a loaner for the day just for an oil and filter change. Plus they give me a free car wash whenever I stop in for as long as I own my H2. When my battery died and left me stranded, Sewell came out and replaced my battery for me at no charge. Sounds like good business to me:D

That is bad business because they just turned away a future potential customer, and now more than likely most people he comes into contact with. Best business is word of mouth, do something nice, people talk, do something not nice people talk.
If there are no loaners left, i'm sure the manager drives a demo of some sort, a good manager would loan that out :)

It's simply stupid to not offer the same "service" to anyone who comes through your doors, regardless of whether they purchased the vehicle there or not.

UPDATE:
i went down to grapevine hummer and gave them the list of warranty crap. some of the stuff i didnt even think they would cover, ie; chipping paint on the plastic inside door handle, they WILL cover. the trucks almost four years old and im the second owner. they treated me like i bought ten h2's from them. the only downside is, they said they cant cover the battery. they said that it's covered for 36 months. oh well, can't win em all. one interesting note though, i said that i wanted to replace it with an optima and they said it wont fit? i know some of you are runnin your rigs with them. anyway......bottom line, they're taking care of all the problems and gave me a new white loaded (save navi) H3. thanks again hummer grapevine!

This is what I'm talking about. Sewell needs to step it up!
I have bought, sold, traded 5 of my 7 HUMMERS through AlSerra because Medved service let me down more than once. Alserra is 35 minutes past Medved. It's worth the drive not only for sales but more importantly the service.
So, it's bad for biz. for Sewell to not to give out loaners to bring in new customers. I'm sure there's a rental car company near by. That's what Alserra does. That's what both Medved stores do too.
I suppose they charge more for parts if you don't buy the vehicle from them also? :twak:

Thats a new name to me, I'll have to try it next time I take it in! Thanks for the info! See ya on the trails:D
Sewell charges double for lots of things, so they can afford to give out loaners:lame:
