I'm excited about finding this forum! I bought a black 06' SUT last week. I am having a hard time deciding if I should add chrome or black accessories? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Black is low maintenance, more practical, for those that are secure in themselves. Chrome is more work, more look at me, for those that need some extra reassurance ;) :D :D
BTW Bring your new H2 out to Long Ranch on Sept 23 and break it in;

I must take exactly the opposite stance lest i let you down, phil.
Black is for people who are trying to avoid animosity from other drives or 'wheelers and hide from the bling-bling image. I mean, its stressful when jeepers are mean and all. So chrome = flaunting, yes, but black = hiding in the corner. ;) (that was a joke :) )
And in the end, blacking out a vehicle and chroming it up are peas in a pod. Modification of a vehicle to stand out or gain a look that suits whatever.
in all reality, i really don't give a rats what anybody elses truck is like, but i consider it my civic duty to counter manliness at all turns. this post was meant in good form, and not in ill.

Your decision is actually quite simple. If you want it to look like the hard core offroad tactical urban assault vehicle that it is, go black.
If you want it to look like pimp daddy's ride, go chrome.
Next question.

laboratory tests consistently fail to demonstrate that chrome causes loss of offroad ability. :p

Okay..maybe I might stick with 20's. I have one other question. What is the option on a leveling kit? My husband sells these and is itching to put one on, but I'm not sure.

35 counting rear gate badge, but those could could be stock lugnuts - so maybe back down to 3;)
Chrome badges, chrome lug nuts, that would be Chrome 34 ;)
Besides which, tire shine definitely counts as bling ;) :D :D

Black is low maintenance, more practical, for those that are secure in themselves. Chrome is more work, more look at me, for those that need some extra reassurance ;) :D :D Welcome Mrs!
Don't listen to all the blackers. Truthfully, the black trims are MUCH MORE maintenance than the chrome ones. Especially if you off-road, since mud tends to permanently etch itself into the black trim. So after washing you gotta scrub, then put the right trim dressing since Armorall actually makes it WORSE in the long run! Speaking of long-run, don't forget the terribly bleaching effect from the sun -- especially Texas sun!
With chrome, you just need to wipe dry with micro fiber cloth after a car wash, and 5 minutes later, good as new! Even my gauged-up (way beyond scratches) chrome rims look great when clean and shiny. Lastly, the glare off your chrome trims gives you all the excuse you need to buy an additional pair (or 10) Chanel sunglasses! :jump:

true. I'll put it this way: I own the lowest amount of stock bling possible, especially now that 07 will all have chrome handles. And, I have added nothing with bling or without a purpose other than aesthetic! And those are stock lug bolts. I do have the prius hybrid emblem on the back, but its purpose is to confuse (very effective) so therefore it is not bling.

You miss all the point of "practical" H2F. You hose it down and don't worry about it. Really simple, no polishing, no getting upset over finger prints on the chrome, no blinded passengers, just plain old practical ;)Aah, I would attribute this to geography then, Phil. Living in a mega metropolis like LA -- instead of backwater itty bitty Texas village (regardless of how big a marble-lion-studded mansion you actually have) -- one could actually get a ticket for driving around in a mud-crusted vehicle. :OWNED::jump:

well, FWIW, its not necessary to fret about your chrome. my wheels aren't so hot anymore, but i'd still rather have something shiny than not.

Ooooo....I like the idea of the hybrid emblem. Where did you get that? I thought about putting a "John Kerry for President" sticker and a rainbow decal on to confuse the sheep also. I also thought about making a sticker that says "One less bicycle". :)

Depends on your personality. If you are creative and take pride in your accomplishments, no question go chrome, but tastefully. If you tend to take the easy way out of things or don't really care what the end result looks like, go black.
