Ok, so I took my H2 in for service a week after I bought it for the windshield noise and a loose driver side door mirror. I realized that the light in the door panel wasn't working anymore about a few days later. I figured someone forgot to plug it back in when they put the door panel back on. Tonight I realized that there was light coming from the panel somehow. I looked under the door panel and saw the bulb had melted its wat through the bottom of the panel. Now I have a hole in the bottom of the panel from the heat of the bulb. The bulb has been working the whole time. The dealer that did this is the one I bought it from and its a ways away. Can a closer dealer take care of this? Will they replace the door panel because of this? I also have a leak at the driver side front of the truck. It looks to be coming from the steering box so i need to have that addressed as well.
Anyone have experience at Mike Daugherty Chevrolet/Hummer in Sacramento? Thats where I am looking to take it. Either there of Fitzpatrick Hummer in Concord CA. I bought it from Putnam Hummer.

I would doubt that any dealer would replace that panel due to anothers
error.GM will not cover the door panel being replaced, your dealer it would seem is buying you a new panel.IMO.
Make sure you call them ASAP!!! To let them know there is a issue.

I was told that GM would replace the panel 1 time. I broke off the compartment on the bottom of the panel. I am going to take it in and see if they will replace. The better relation you have with the dealer, the more things get done.

The better relation you have with the dealer, the more things get done. That is true but,to correct his mirror problem the tech had to take the door panel off to fix the mirror issue.
Then the tech didn't put it back together right. It is clearly the dealerships issue not a GM issue.

this is true, it SHOULD be replaced, but the dealer that caused the problem will bear the expense. If you have not called, CALL!

Well, I called the dealer that did it and they said they would take care of it but I had to bring it down so they could see it and then they'd order it, then I had to bring it back so they could install it. I called Sacramento Hummer and made an appointment to have the leack checked. Then I got a PM to talk to Rick LaTour from a memeber here that works there (thanks Alan). I went there this morning and spoke to Rick and he was very accomodating. He said that he'd get it handled for me no problem. The panel is ordered and should be there Tuesday. YAY! It's a lot closer to home (30 min instead of 2 hours) so that is saving me a lot of time and gas. The leak was a simple overflow tube from the front diff. they degreased the area, fixed it with some kind of filter (i think) and sent me home. I am VERY pleased with Sacramento Hummer. Rick is a great guy to deal with and I highly recommend.
Thanks all!
