View Full Version : Best sounding song on stock Monsoon??

Interleukin

What song do you think sounds the best coming from the stock 7-speaker Monsoon?

For me, I have noticed that with the volume halfway up (auto-volume set on medium), treble at +6 and bass at +2:

(1) Ozzy's "Crazy Train"
(2) Neil Young's "Hey Hey, My My"
(3) Metallica's "Orion"

wow. I have found that with BASS at 0, it is still too much. Bass is over powering the whole mix. I run it at -2. Treble is a little harsh at high volume. I keep it at 0. With that setting, anything is good. I have been known to blast some classical station if I drive by someone blarring their stereo really loud. Get some nice looks. :jump:

Any of them as long as I can drown out the sound of Jeep or FJ going by LOL

Seriously, I think rock in general sounds the best. I have my CD player loaded with all 80s music and most of it sounds very *sweet*. Family Man by Hall and Oates, as well as Down Under by Men at Work particularly rock :perfect10s:

Well, I'm going to need some more information then.

The NYC was a reference to your timezone and not to the TV, right?

What was the zipcode where you were viewing this in?

Was the Kate Smith show a re-run or new episode?

Did your TV have the V-chip?

Who was your cable provider?

OMG!!! I can't believe all the tv shows you had listed, Dei! LOL!! I really had a good laugh tonight between your responses and RYD's! Say, you two could have your own sitcom! :giggling: But, Dei, you seem to know an awful lot about Kate Smith and that era. Are you in the same club as RYD and Zoomie? :giggling: Come on, RYD, throw Dei at least one Depend for all the hard work he has been going through getting that info! :giggling: It has to be somewhat humilitating for him to have to ask you more than twice for one! :jump:

RYD - does that mean I don't get any more tries? :(

Not fair! 98% of the people that witnessed that moment of TV history died or lost their memory before the internet was created, there is no way to put said information online. The other 1.99999999% could never figure out the internet. So you are the only one that knows the answer and can kinda use the internet and you refuse to share your wisdom. I'm afraid the answer to this question will never be solved without guessing. :(

Kansas Protriot
Smash Mouth Walking on the Sun
Norman Greenbaum Spirit in the Sky

???? Ghostriders in the Sky

LOL! Nope, I didn't have any help finding it. LOL. No one could figure out why I was sitting here going through Kate Smith links trying to figure out this trivia question. I just liked the challenge, that's all. It was maddening as it was near impossible to find without having some knowledge of programming back then. But, here is where I finally found it ... http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0043210/ .
I don't want a gift ...lol. But, if you must send one .. please send it to DEI .. I insist! He tried so hard and long for that Depends sample. ;)

I thought back .. and thought, well my parents probably watched the Kate Smith Show ... and I had heard that my brother (first born) used to love watching Howdy Doody .. so it clicked and made sense after reading those choices. I don't remember my brother ever talking about Pinky Lee or Gaby Hayes(?). Though, I think he had watched re-runs of Howdy Doody .. unless the show continued through the 50's.If you would have said no to Howdy Doody Show, I would have tried one of the other two. :)
