I'm curious too. I have the factory GPS and would like to use the existing screen. Anyone know if it's possible?

I've seen a backup option on the after market Pioneer and others but when the screen's up it blocks the two air vents in the center.

Hey James, I did a brief description w/ some pics of a custom camera mount I did on my H2. I'll attach a link to the thread (hope it works) and maybe it could give you some ideas.

I have installed a video monitor above the rear view mirror and did it without drilling any holes. I made a template out of cardboard and made the bracket to match out of thin guage stainless and powder coated it. The bracket fits under the sunroof trim and clips behind the upper consul housing. The wiring ran without any holes and the power supply was fused and wired into the back-up lights. It powers up only in reverse and the micro camera is mounted in a 1"x1" custom housing attached to the top, inside, center of the rear window. Invisible from the outside and wide lens eliminates the low blind spot. I hope these pics tell the story.

I've tried placing my digital camera near that spot (interior), and shoot downwards, but cannot see edge of bumper/tip of tow hitch -- which to me means this position will NOT work for backup camera?? THANKS!

H2Finally,
I do not use my camera for hooking up my trailers. I use it as a safety measure so that I don't back over kids or dogs (cats are ok). The wide lens gets a couple of inches past the hitch. Too much flash glare to post the pic of the view. Here's the camera mount..

Thanks max. Maybe the wide angle is the key. How wide is your camera?

Btw, curious, if backing up cats are ok, why is your avatar Felix? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I'll have to get back to you with the camera info.I had a bunch of security cameras and played with a few different ones. Need to open the covers to get at the info (probably won't). Felix keeps moving and my turning radius isn't that great.

Max, no, don't go to that much trouble. I'd be able to tell the angle from the photo of your MONITOR (maybe if you cover flash with your hand?). Again, your setup is PERFECT! I like the interior mount because when off-roading, you can use the back wiper to clean the window/camera view, even after covered in mud!

Thanks!
