Six people, including a 1-year-old, were taken to the hospital following a two-car crash in front of Cathedral Canyon Country Club on Friday afternoon.
Police said a 2007 Hummer 3 was crossing Cathedral Canyon Drive to enter the country club when a red 2002 Chevy Cavalier broadsided it.
The H3 rested on its side following the 12:57 p.m. crash, its front end facing the Cavalier, whose front end was smashed in.
Cathedral City resident Lawrence Bennet, 46, drove the Cavalier, which carried three passengers. They all suffered minor to major injuries, Cathedral City police said Friday.
One passenger was not wearing a seat belt and suffered severe cuts to her head and legs.
The Cavalier also carried a dog, a boxer, that was not wearing a safety belt and suffered cuts.
Driving the H3 was Fina Saroli, a 33-year-old visiting from Detroit, with her 1-year-old in the car. They suffered minor bruises.
