View Full Version : flowmaster
I recently had an extreme flow muffler installed in my '05 h2 and I did not like the performance on it my question is if anyone here has had the flowmaster and experienced any problems? I was told to go with the 50 or 70 series what do you guys recommend? would i lose any torque?

I think there has been quite a bit of discussions regarding the question you have. Check the FIND-function.
Thanks and welcome!

Lot's of info in find but, yes I have allot of experience with flowmaster and love them. What You buy is really based on sound You want. Most mufflers are going to help about the same in HP which is little actually. Some do free flow better but, usually to get the full use of exhaust benefit you need to go with a complete unit from catback header system into true dual 3" pipes from cats to 2 mufflers (My preference is super 40's) and come out of each muffler with 2.5" pipe to just over the axle and stop it up in stock location. 3" will not have enough room to go over axle and tuck in the factory location but, 2.5" do.

Hi Ken a single 3" will go over axle but, I did not make Myself very clear. 2 3" will not make over axle without getting to close to bags and rattle. We tried them and to keep them away from bag it had to almost touch axle so We got rattle. Played with it and could not get it to stop. Thus We went with 2-2.5" over the axle and used factory hanger locations and got both over axle with just enough room to stay away from bags and have no rattle against other metal. We kept them close together and welded them together on spots to keep them from rattleing against each other.
Sorry if I did a poor job explaining.
