"A" got stung again by 2 yellow jackets. On her finger and her knee. I don't know why they keep coming after her. This is crazy. It stung her thru her leggings. She said "why does this keep happening to me? Is it because I'm so sweet?"
Yes sweety. It's because you're so sweet.
Poor little thing.:(

If "A" is a kid, then she's probably getting stung because she swats at the YJs and makes sudden movements. They have compound eyes, and anything that moves quickly usually gets attacked. If you stand still they won't do anything to you. They might even land on you, and walk around for a bit. They'll usually just fly off. However, if you see their abdomen start wiggling just flick them off.

I don't want anyone "hatin'" on my kids so I will not post their names in an open forum. "A" is my 5 year old and she calls her sister "that baby" so that is what I call them on elcova. "A and That Baby" A says " What is that baby into now?, What is that baby crying about now?, Where is that baby going?" it is so funny. Even Ken and CP started calling her That Baby. :giggling:

Isn't there a repellent or something you can get for her? Get her one of those electric fly swatters.

She's getting stung for some other reason. She's been stung by nearly every type of flying insect we have around here.
She got stung by the yellow jackets because she disturbed the bush that was above their nest. She was lucky she only got stung twice. Is a big next with a bunch of little buggers.
When she was 2 she moved some toys where a gaggle of red wasps had just started making a huge nest and was stung several times on the face. It's been downhill from there.

I recovered several of the dead bodies of her enemy to help numb her pain and give her strength. Tomorrow, I go back in and take the whole stronghold and we feast on it's papier construction in jubilation of the retribution we have laid forth. Muwwaaaahahahah
Couple of Lesbian queens in this bunch. Big bitches too.
Neighbors surely think I am going through one of my episodes. Crawling around right next to the street in the dark while it's pouring rain, with my Ultrastinger flashlight and a tupperware bowl talking to the dirt as I pick off the few remaining sentries and scoop away some of the bodies of the dead so that my daughter can gain some relief and not be afraid to go back outside.

I work outside, (telephone repairman) and come in contact with all kinds of things that bite and sting:mad: most insects ie. wasp/bees (non-africanized) will leave you alone as long as they are not bothered or thier nest not threatened. BUT yellow jackets are very aggressive and attack in force if your just close by and make them nervous. the only solution is to KILL THEM ALL then dance on nest and kill every yj you see:dancingbanana:

Apparently some of the little mutherf'ers were out about and flying around when I made my assault on the nest last night.
Go back out there today to show "A" the hole and there's 2 of the little sum bitches flying around. She goes running back inside screaming.
I'll be damned!
It's still freaking raining but I get back on my hands and knees and find that damn hole again and start picking the leaves away. Little SOBs fly around and I stop. They come back to the hole and land and end life there. They kept trickling in like that while I was trying to clear away the leaves and sticks.
Muther**** ***** ***** ***** *****...... they got multi entrances. Their whole **** is coming out of the ground now. Azalea bush and all.
I'm going to tie the freaking winch line to the bush and winch it up and will then flip the neighbors off as they drive by with those funny looks on their faces.

Fill the holes with YJ spray or whatever and cover them up with soil. Best done at night when they are docile.
Went after them last night, came back today thinking they would be done but apparently there were a few left behind.
Winched the azalae bush up and look what I find

Next time use starting fluid. Thats my favorite product for insect removal. These days I put gasoline is a water gun and soak the nest. They DONT like it, but they start dying instantly. I love watching them fall out of the nest. but, not as much as I love watching them fly around on fire (did I mention that you then need to light the nest on fire? Thats what the ether is for). That is THE COOLEST. :D
My fav thing to do is buy a large new can of hairspray, put a long lighter in front of it, and WOOOOSHHH!!!! :D

Oh damn. I would have found a way to dump a **** ton of gas down that hole as quickly as possible. Flame on YJ's. Wow Paragon thats a ton of YJ's. I noticed from my time in the deep south that the bugs were much larger, but also that the populated in massive numbers. Do you guys have Japanese Hornets down there? I saw those things in North Carolina, those were the craziest damn bugs I have ever seen. They were like little robots.
Has your daughter been getting stung all summer? Or is it more recently? I know you said that this happened numerous times, when it has happened in the past has it been at a particular time of year. The reason I ask is cause up here at this time of year bees, hornets, and all that sort get much more aggressive. Maybe that could be a contributing factor?
I think I would light the fluid as it came out of the nozzle so you have a little flame thrower.:jump:

I have been wanting to do that for years. However, there is no check valve in a watergun to prevent blowback. Something like a Victor type blowback valve could work, maybe. But the thing is do you see how compicated doing this is begining to get? I'd rather just buy a flame thrower.
