well, well where do I begin. :excited:

I suppose to be studing for my test tomorrow but I am so excited! Anyway, my dad finally got me my H3. Its a 2007 Black Adventure with Chrome appearence package. I parked it right outside my apartment, but my dad got me paranoid about some jealouse kids keying my new ride. I dont think i have any enemies, but now I cant stop looking out my window!:(
I love driving my hummer, i feel like i own the road, I tend to go 25-30mph in a 35, or 35mph in a 40-45:dancingbanana: .

Moonroof is awesome!, and I dont think the gas mileage is bad at all, my '02 eclipse seems to burn more gas!( PREMIUM GAS).
I love Betsy, when we drive by, i just notice all heads turning, all i can do is smile, sit back and say "thats right baby".
Err the pedals are really close though, that is one of my 2 compaints, my dad drove it and complained too, he also says it feels like a truck, and I told him "thanks"! He likes trucks tho. (sometimes i take off my right shoe to drive)

Onstar is the coolest thing in the world, i cant wait to make a phone call, my dad put his credit card on it, so i can order alot of minutes!

Backing up is a bitch already. Now i always try to back into a space, becuae backing out it basically saying " i hope no one is behind me, i dont wanna kill somebody" :OWNED:
The first time i backed up I swear, i looked both ways and behind me, and out came swurving a small bmw coup thingy. I can bearly see it infront of me much less behind. My mom says I should get that camera thing so i can see behind me. My dad says I should use my mirrors to see behind me, but they dont help to see what is directly behind. How do you guys do it????? any tips is appreciated!

It has great pickup if it wants to, but I dont use betsy to race, i just cruise with her.

Im waiting for the day that I park next to another H3!, its going to be a glorious day!
I'll post pictures Soon! Im just so stoked right now!:perfect10s:

Oh yes I almost forgot. once i left the dealership a "low tire" light came on, so i went back and gave it to them. It keeps coming back on every now and then? They said they put air in it...He also claims that there is hyrdrogen in the tire. it that true? so many questions, so much time!

Congrats, thanks to your generous father. I'm using a Hitchcam that the dealer installed to see behind the H3, so far no mishaps.

re: behind you...

If DAD is paying buy the HitchCam!

If you have to pay buy the 2 little convex mirrors and the fresnal lens for the rear door window, maybe $30 total (do a search, lots of previous posts about that)

my dad paid for mine:D , so i got a $3000 nav(including all extras) which happened to have a back up camera. hehe:dancingbanana:

also you will get used to the blind spots and using the mirrors very effectively as time passes. It took me couple of weeks. Just be careful in the begining and then it'll be like second nature.

Pulling up next to another hummer is kinda cool, and the drivers are cool people, love to chat. I especially like hummer convoys on the highway. Once in a while when drivin down i line up with some more random hummers and people think its a fu**ing invasion or sumethin. hehe.

i was kinda paranoid about where i park it, but around here it seems that many more people love it than hate it. Ive only gotten a couple of weird looks and tons of nice looks. You need to get yourself a girl (if you dont already have one) that makes the ladies stare even more when you stop at a light or something like that, than they would if your alone.

Are you gona off road it? How old are you?

Congrats and enjoy the truck!

I use the, if someone is in my way, they'll move method when backing out. Occasionally, I also use the listen technique which is basically... if you hear any crunching or screaming you know to slow it down a bit. Visibility is over-rated, and those frensel lenses that RYD keeps trying to push will make you look like an old fart driving a school bus! :giggling:

NITROGEN is used to inflate tires. If yours are filled with hydrogen, it's probably a good thing to keep your speed low and your tires cool. And check your tire pressure often. Do you smoke? :giggling:

Nitrogen? So does that mean that you can only inflate your tires at the dealer? I use regular compressed air. You can't always have a Nitrogen air source when you're on the road.

BTW Matt, congrats on the new truck. I hope you like it as much as I do. Be careful driving it, but it sounds like you are already.

HummerHippy
10-26-2006, 02:18 PM
Welcome and congrats on the Truck Matt!
My milage is great. I keep it at most, 5-10 mph over the speed limit. Lots of discussion last year about the tire pressure issue. I have started to see mine come on every morning (it's in the 30s now). But after a couple miles of warming upm, it goes off. I chalk it up to the sensitivity of the system. If it stays on for a while, then I'll check the pressure.

Yes, it's the latest fad. Many tire shops are installing the equipment to inflate tires with nitrogen. Commercial aircraft use nitrogen....many benefits. It does not leak out as easily at regular air. It contains no moisture. It expands and contracts less with temperature variation, and it is very profitable for whoever is selling it to you. Most places charge around $5 per tire to switch you over.

Matt: Welcome. I was just as excited as you when I took my H3 out for our first ride. I still have a boner! 32307 :dancingbanana: :excited: :excited:

I only use 79% nitrogen in my tires, works much better than 100%fill.

It may cost more for but I'm worth it :D .

I sometimes use trimix, the helium does improve fuel mileage .00125 mpg.

Are you gona off road it? How old are you?

Im 19 going on 20. I sure do wanna offroad it. But my dad says i have to get more comfortable with it first. Im not going against anything he says, im still glowing like a school girl.
I think in this short time ive gotten use to my new ride. It rides really smooth, going 50 feels really slow. My friends totally love it, and i cant help but to smile.:D I couldnt even sleep last night, i was so excited. I get so many compliments.
Since I live off campus, my friends like when i drive them somewhere crowded, and I get so many "Nice Car" from girls. Its funny because I was hesitant about getting a hummer, my dad says "you should quit trying to fit in" thats why he bought it. But now Im happy i got it. I wouldnt get these kind of compliments with any other car, im sure of it.:iagree: .

When I was on the highway towards Athens from South Caroline another hummer caught up to me, I didnt know if i suppose to tail him, or was he just welcoming me to the family. What a nice family it is. Its such a perfect size, and i couldnt be any happier. Ive thanked my dad everyday since i got it and hes happy im happy..

The Hummer just makes everyone who gets to ride in it so happy.
Thanks for all the Congrats guys!:jump:

ps.
sometimes it beeps but it doesnt tell me anything. Does it beep if a passenger isnt wearing a seatbelt? I should read the manuel.

pps. Oops i do think the dealer said its Nitrogen in the tires not hydrogen. Becuase he said it helps with it not going flat as often, or in cold/warm weather expanding/despanding.

That's a state school right..?? Ya pay the dues and most of 'em take anyone.. Just kidding..

I shoulda done the 4 year thing, but was to lazy at the time.. Figured I'd done 12 years of school, it was time for a break.. Went back a year later and did two years of tech school.. I think that got me as far in computers as kids getting out of school with a 4 year Bachlors degree.. Not important though..

Enjoy the truck.. If daddy is willing to pay for it and can afford it, let him.. My mom bought me a Firebird when I was in college.. Caught a bit of flack from other kids, but I wasn't the one driving a rust bucket and it was easy to drive off with their honeys while they were asking around the parking lot for a jump start.. :dancingbanana:

[quote=PhilD]You really assume too much. How do you know who did or didn't have their vehicle given to them? The fact you think that people are jealous of you, and the fact you play on that, says more about you than anything anyone else can say.

Let me ask you this, why do you think someone would be jealous of you? You are only capable of receiving a H3 as a gift, and not very graciously either, whereas many here could give one as a gift.

I will say that your churlish behavior reflects poorly on your parents, and I'll go back to my first point; "I think your Dad may have been better off spending his money on your education". As it very clearly is lacking, not just the spelling of a failed 4th grader, but he clearly failed dismally at teaching you what it is to be a man.

Come on PEOPLE !!!

Your beating a dead horse...

If you would take the time to concentrate on the H-3 and not peoples means of obtaining it or their grammer or their spelling or their name or if their female or male

THEN

we could ALL enjoy our 3's

AND

learn more about them (the 3's), give each other tips and suggestions and ideas

AND

maybe even joke around a little (you know me)...

OK !!!

Yeah, isn't it fun though? Those damn dead horses deserve a good whooping, they have no respect. I once got ejected from a gator when I ran into a dead horse in the middle of a field at night. Ever since, I haven't been to fond of dead horses and will take every chance I get to beat one.

Have a nice life :)

That makes no sense. You are saying that basically you can buy someone else an H3. But I am the result of having an H3 given to me. I don?t see what the problem is. You are merely trying to say that you can afford to give someone an H3, but I have not made any kind of boyish bolstering by having being able to have parents that can afford to buy there son an h3.

You simply think that I believe that I am a wealthy kid, and need to brag. So in your defense you are trying to state how well off you are. I'm sorry if i came of cocky. I think you men would probably like to here that I am 29 year old who had two jobs to pay for my dream car (H3). But instead you get a 19 year old whose dad bought him an h3. Now I understand. A lot of your egos and accomplishments have gone out the window. Hell, i wish I had to work hard to get my h3, I would fit in to this little cult here, but I guess I should join a club that accepts all.

I would hate to be 30 years old and finally be able to afford a 40k car, and then a week later hear some kid who was given that same car. Damn that would tick me off, so bad that I would belittle that kid, and insult him any way I know how. I would tell him he?s dumb and doesn?t deserve it. Yep, that?s what I would do. Then after I say that, the boy would probably never reply again because he understands that he as offended a lot of middle-old age men, and has finally claimed victory over his accomplishments.

Too bad you also have someone younger than you that paid for his own truck raggin' on you, too. :giggling: Why you ask? Because you were kindly asked to show a picture, pretty standard around here. What do you do? Turn into a dick for no apparent reason.

Then comes all this jealously nonsense, no one cared how you got your H3, we were happy for you... just wanted to see a picture. Hell, I was spoiled rotten as a kid, spread out over the years, no one lump sum in the form of a truck. Unlike you I didn't have delusions that I "earned" any of that because I got good grades. Only thing I expect from my good grades is a good future. It's laughable to think you feel you "earned" it (enough to feel superior to everyone here) simply because you finished high school. :giggling:

But in the end, we were nice, you turned into a dick, we stopped being so nice and you started crying. You did this to yourself.

I just 'happened upon' this thread, but, what I would say to Matt is ... If you DID just get your new H3, then congratulations! We were all excited about getting this new model Hummer. While we basically announced our new purchase .. we then moved on to the General H3 Talk or Technical Talk areas .. or the General Off-Topic Talk. Maturity comes at different ages .. but what I THINK most are bothered about here is that a lot of your talk had to do with wanting to impress the girls as you pass them by, looking for looks from girls, etc. The ages on this forum range from 21 and up. While many joke about wanting to impress women or guys (this forum has both men and women) .. most don't obsess about it. I think this is what 'sort of' got some of the people here going with jokes. Enjoy your H3 .. post a photo .. and join in on the other talk that goes on here. It's a great learning forum if you use it the right way. :D

Even though your time would be better spent learning from them so you don't always have to rely on good grades to buy you stuff. ;)

Dei, why couldn't the dad have purchased the H3 in South Carolina? Georgia and South Caolina border each other. I may be too trusting, but looking at his age, I think he is just really excited about his new H3. I was excited about mine and I've had several vehicles through my life so far .. none of which got me as excited as I am now with my 3. I think he came to a place (Elcova) to share his excitement with other Hummer owners. Maybe we should think back to when we were 19? I haven't read every single post on this thread .. maybe there's a reason why everyone is jumping on this kid ... but, mannnnn ... maybe is just really looking for a place to talk about his new truck? Invest in a good air gauge if you have the 33 inch tires put in 35 lbs cold, again when psi goes below 32 light will come on.

I got some mud in the bead and had a slow leak, scraped it out with a credit card,If tires loosing air maybe you picked up a nail.

Now lets see some offroad pics, lots of trails in south crackalaky

Yep, it has to be waxed! First few thousand miles, a quick drive would get my h3 all dirty, any sort of rain and it would be filthy. Felt like I had to wash it nearly everyday. I had a detailer spend 8 hours getting mine looking new again and waxed it real well, now all it takes is a wash with that autodry kit every few weeks to keep it looking like a mirror and feeling like glass. :)

Have already done all they showed many many years ago...

when your tires are COLD put in 38 - 40 pounds of air ( I think they are rated to 44 but your ride will be harsh at 44, plus the heat buildup from highway speeds make kick your pressure up to high....

YES WASH... the biggest trick is clean your soft wash rag often. Be careful with some sponges, they can hide abrasive dirt in some of the crevises and possibly scratch.

Question??? was the M/F answer ever given ???????

Wash rag?! Are you mad?! It's gotta be a sheepskin wash mit, and yes even on an already clean car it seems you have to wash it out real good at least twice per panel so you don't scratch it up.

That's quite often, I figure I only get mine detailed (professionally) every 6 months (haven't had it long enough yet, but that schedule sounds good), but it is a very thorough and expensive detail.

The autodry kit is that mr. clean thing. It's really quite handy and actually works. I do use a different wash mit though, and only use each one for about 2 washes.
