anybody work at a tire shop (or know somebody at one) that has tried to put them on a stock 3? Of course, it would have to be torsion cranked. I have a theory that a skinny 37" may fit. say 37x10.5-12.5. I come from the Land Rover world, so tall and skinny tires look and function great. The theory being that there is ample room for 2 more inches up and down, left and right would be tight; but skinny may work. the advantages are clear: an additional 2" of ground clearance (over 33" stock tires). any input?

I doubt the front diff and the I-5 would hold up well with 37" tires

What are you thinking? Michelin XCLs?

well, I thought there would be many choices, but super swamper has this one:

I'm sure you could get them to fit. Just make sure you drive in a straight line on perfectly flat ground.

And make sure that you can tolerate truly slow acceleration as your H3 will become especially gutless.http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon4.gif

top speed in the LR was 80 mph, so the h3 is a camaro in comparison:shhh: mind you, that was with a v8. damn those motors suck; but duct tape, bubble gum, and tampons is all you need to fix one.

but, I'm really just thinking outloud, outside the box.
