Sylvania H13ST Silverstars are now available for use in the H3. I received an email from Sylvania yesterday, stating they have been shipped to Advanced Auto, Auto Zone and O?Reilly?s. I could not find them on any of their websites, however, today I walked into an Auto Zone and purchased the two they received for stock on Monday.

Cool, I had silverstars on a different car before. They were definately an improvement over the stock ones. I'd get some people flashing me that my brights were on, when they weren't. As far as I recall they were more white'ish. I'm going to have to pick up a set.

A few years ago I switched to these on my other cars. The first car and first night (and there after), I had drivers flashing me because they though my high beams were on. Not good for them...but good when you get old and your eye sight begins to go :)

You are. But to make up for my really white lights, maybe you should get black ones? That way no race will feel left out. I have a black truck, with white lights. You have a yellow truck, with black lights. If you get red lights instead, I think we can have every race represented after going through some mud. ;)

Not installed, yet. I picked up at lunch, and will install tomorrow AM. I had them on the Vette, and their sealed beam replacement for the Jeep. I found them to be a lot "whiter," and very little blue, if any at all. They certainly did light up the night better than stock bulbs. I never had anyone flash the lights when driving the Jeep (Vette was too low).
Not sure how they will affect the H3, since the H3 does sit higher than most vehicles coming the other way. Also not sure how much brighter they will appear to be, since in my opinion, the stock H3 bulbs seem pretty white.
I'll know in a couple of days.
In addition, in the fall of 2007, Sylvania will also be releasing the silver stars in their new Ultra line. But until next year, we will have to settle for the standard Silverstars.

Love the silverstars. Just wish they lasted longer ... they always seem to burn out in about a year.

Must have had a bad set. I have them in the Vette (over three years), and the Jeep for two years, and never burned out a set. A friend of mine has had them for over four years in his P/U truck and still never replaced a bulb.

Maybe it was the Blazer then. I had two sets of 9005s and 9006s and each one lasted about a year. They did a recall on the DRLs at one point and rewired the low beams. High beams did last a little longer, come to think.

Picked up the H13STs and 9145STs today, just installed them. Tried to get a picture in the dark of a closed garage, so it's tight but should give an idea. Might get some more pics tonight, but they are a definate improvement, I like.
The driver side is the silverstars, they came out blue in the pictures but they are pure white and the stocks are more yellow.

Awesome! I may have to get down to Autozone :excited:
FYI.... Advance Auto Parts has all Sylvania @ 25% off through 12/30! Just picked up mains and fogs for $58.23! They had the mains in a twin pack (H13ST2) for $37.88 and the fogs (9145ST) were $19.88 each. Autozone wanted $19.99 each and no sale. Advance was $21.73 cheaper :dancingbanana:

there is a guy on E-bay also selling them. He's in PA. It costs about $39 and change with shipping. I just received them the other day. Do a search for Silverstar H-13, it should come up.

Break your fender liners. Lucky for me, both of mine got broken while off-roading and the dealership hasn't gotten them in yet, so I just reached up. I'd imagine it would suck any other way. :giggling:

Guess I posted my comments in the wrong section yesterday - Here it is for this thread:
Just purchased a pair of Sylvania H13ST Silverstars from Autozone tonight at $19.95 ea. Replaced the OEM Phillips lamps (took less than 2 minutes for both sides) and wow - a very noticeable difference in light quality and intensity. The silverstars produce a much more natural, pleasing white light and are in fact, brighter than the OEM's. Although the wattage is the same, Osram Phillips managed to squeeze more lumens out The upgrade was definitely worthwhile. I took the last pair from the store and was told they can't keep them on the shelf for more than 2 days before they sell out. I was going to pick up a set of 9145ST's for the fogs, but they only had one in stock. Will be back to the store soon. In case you're wondering, Sylvania does not offer the H13 in the Silverstar Ultra version, but I suppose it's only a matter of time. Here's a link to Sylvania's website if you want more info on these lamps: http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...ce/Silverstar/
I give these lamps a perfect score. :perfect10s:

The headlamps and fogs can both be replaced in about 5 minutes. I didn't have to remove the plastic fender lining for the fogs, just had to squeeze my hand through - not too bad.

Just finished mine, totally agree! 10 mins all four were done, 6 of them looking for a flashlight!
I think Sylvania makes these in my hometown. Anyone have a box to see where they are manufactured?

Hmmmmm- they must have subsidiaries - there is a huge plant in Warren, PA. It mgiht even be the HQ - thus the "Sylvania" origin.

Sent an inquiry through Sylvania contact page and got a very fast reply;
Good Morning,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your inquiry.
Unfortunately, neither parts H13 or 9145 are currently available in our
SilverStar Ultra product line. The highest upgrade that we offer for
these parts is in the "regular" SilverStar product line. Part H13 will
eventually be offered in a SilverStar Ultra upgrade; it is expected to
be released by fall of 2007. Part 9145 is not currently scheduled for
release in a SilverStar Ultra upgrade.
Parts 9145ST and H13ST have just recently been launched and are being
sold at the following retail stores:
Advance Auto Parts
AutoZone
GI Joe's
O'Reilly Auto Parts
We have only recently begun shipping these parts to these retail stores'
warehouses so it could be another month or two before the product makes its way from their warehouses to their stores and then out onto the store shelves. I believe Advance Auto Parts is selling both parts
online through their website: www.partsamerica.com (http://www.partsamerica.com). We are currently
running a mail in rebate promotion that offers customers a $5 rebate
check with the purchase of a pair of SilverStars. I have attached the
rebate form to this email for your convenience. Please do not hesitate
to contact me directly if you have any other questions or require
further assistance.

So I just got my silverstars. They made a huge difference in my other vehicles, but not as much this time. The color temp is slightly less yellow but not all that different from stock. It does seem to throw a little more light down the road and to the right tho.
Not a required upgrade imo, but still worth it on sale and with the rebate :)

The coupon reads "Get a $10 rebate on a pair of premium SilverStar ULTRAs or a $5 rebate on a pair of SilverStars", so has anyone got $10 back (in one household) after buying 2 pairs of SilverStars for their H3?
