OK...
This isn't to BUST BALLS
BUT
do other manufacturer/dealers supply their customers with an AIR CONDITIONED - Computer/Internet, Telephone, Copy Machine, Fax room to work from while waiting for NON-WARRENTY WORK?
I'm at the HUMMER dealer right now and think this is great.

Depends on your metro area and the level of quality/service/customer care at your dealership. I've been in bare-bones, no internet, no WI-FI, nothing waiting room with a tiny TV that's tuned to soaps (ARMEN's old building) and then I was at a BMW dealership in Kansas City that had a soda fountain, TV with remote, internet terminals, and a comfy sofa. So I tuned into SPIKE and watched Star Trek: TNG will I waited. I think I drank about 4 sodas:D

Yeah, the Man Show is pretty good. Adam Corolla and Jimmy Kimmel = funny.
Of course, Howard Stern On Demand is pretty awesome too. Doubt they'd have that though.

Wow, the dealer has great service!!! Most of the Hummer dealership near where I live is so small that the waiting area has only 3-4 chairs.

Agree RYD - Hendrick Hummer here in Cary has a sweet setup also. Had to stop by for an oil change a few weeks ago during the day and was able to get some work done while I was there.

Our dealer has two stalls....and that is in the main Chevrolet building.
The Hummer building has two restrooms.

WELL...
As I started this
I was really wondering how this HUMMER Dealer compared to the likes of dealers of other manufacturers like:
Jeep
FJ
and other (now this is ment in good taste) competiors of the HUMMER line {H1, H2, H3}
We all know that MOST HUMMER dealers are great (3 or 4 chairs)
BUT
How do HUMMERS rivals (dealers) compare...

Frank Kent Hummer in Ft Worth, TX http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif- they provide computer/phone access, paper, television, coffee or water. There are cookies available if you want. They treat you right.
It's better and more pleasant than other dealership waiting areas I have used in the past.

Maybe, just a thought, but if they didn't have to pay for all the luxury of air conditioning and high speed internet, they wouldn't have to RAPE us for bolt ons such as grill guards and rock rails... just a thought!

If a dealer has just 3 or 4 plastic chairs in the WAITING ROOM or has 4 stalls in the mensroom WE (you and me) if we buy accessories at the dealer are going to be charged full list. FACT OF LIFE (except for the very unusual close out or overstock sale)
NOW
depending on our OWN needs, time frame, desires, location, income and ability some choose to purchase from a dealer and some don't. It becomes a personal decision. The dealers charge those prices because they can.
and on and on and on...
AND SOME are beaten to death by the customer on the price of the vehicle (thats me)

just wondering why your dealer doesn't give you a loaner to use while you wait.

Got loaners on WARRENTY WORK but not on non warrenty. I try and save up so there is WARRENTY mixed in but this time it was ajust a BOLT through the tire. Only had to wait about 45 minutes and then went across the street to FUDDRUCKERS for a burger and fries with a friend...
