If you have the monsoon (sp) system why not put in the that amps place of the monsoon amp if its small enough.

its in the cargo area in the drivers side panel. Thats where the sub and amp are if you have the monsoon.

k9 - similar issue here. I installed a sub amp a few months back and wound up mounting on the sub box. I hated doing this, but didn't have time to install in the monsoon location. I now have to disconnect EVERYTHING when I need the cargo space. Someone sent me instructions for taking off the rear-quarter panel a while back - believe it was Marin8703??? I never got around to taking it off but would be glad to share the information. PM me your email and I'll send.

How big's the amp..?? Physical size if you will... If you want it really hidden, find a way to mount it behind those storage compartment doors.. You may have to do some cutting and fabricating though... If it's small enough you might be able to to put them under the front seats..
I had a 87 Silverado a few years back.. I mounted the EQ and a small amp 50 watt amp for the front speakers in the glove compartment.. Had 2 - 10 inch Fosgate subs and a 100watt Orion amp in a box behind the seat.
I haven't looked at high end stereo stuff in so long I don't even know who the big names are now... Back in 87 I think I placed 2nd in the AR regional Car Wars <150watt cat.. I had a Alpine Cassette head unit, a small 45watt booster amp mounted in the dash with the radio, a 100watt MEI Amp running 2 - 10 inch Pile Drivers with passive crossovers. Sounded decent, right at 100dB, but it was one hell of a clean install. No wiring visable anywhere... The box had been build by a cabinet maker with the sub amp mounted in a cut out on the center. It was built to *fit* behind the seat of an S-10 and I still had room to scoot the seat back most of the way THEN... (A later box with an extra 12" in it had the seat scooted ALL the way forward.. I couldn't even get in the NOW) I had some old scrap red and black vinyl and covered the box with that... At the time everyone else was still covering boxes in carpet if they were covered at all.. I was just to cheap to go spend $35 more for the carpet..
Anyroads.. Be creative with it and you'll figure it out.. And make it look clean when it's done.. Don't leave wires hanging out...

I don't have the monsoon, so that gives me the lil staorage area on the side. I am thinking about cutting the back out and installing in there. It won't fit under the seats. The other idea is building the box (I think JP made a boX) in the rear for storage and put in under that.

Building a box that fills in the back of the truck to put the amp in would work.. Mount the sub box on top of the platform with quick release connectors and wiring disconnects so you can get some of the space back if you need it.. Heck.. If you can figure out a good way to mount the subs in that deck box, fire 'em straight up and still have them protected physically and visually you wouldn't loose much space anytime..

I don't remember where I got this install from, but he had a shop fab up a fiberglass enclosure that fit in the panel/access door location on the rear door. I don't know what he did with his jack. He also removed the driver side panel (where the monsoon amp is located) and installed this giant amp there. It looks like a clean install. HTH!
