Well, by the time I ge tback from my Thanksgiving trip there will be over 15,000 miles on my '06 H3. I think that is when I need to get the first tune up. If this is true, what all is done to it?

I just brought my H3 in for service for a grinding noise in the brakes. They tried to ssell me the 15k service. I said, "No Thanks!"

The 15k service includes;
Oil change
Air Filter change
tire rotation
new wiper blades
Plus a few other small things I think. I had already done all of this recently... Changed the oil the day before. (It's VERY easy on the H3).. I have a Volante air filter so I change/clean that myself anyway and I recently put on new wiper blades. I asked for the tire rotation while it was in for service as well as an alignment.

I'm not sure what the cost is but I would imagine it's fairly expensive. If you do your own work you really don't need to do this IMO.

Thanks for the info. I need to start doing the stuff myself anyway.

No Rotor or Distributer cap to worry about.

The plugs should last 30K miles?

Plugs are 100K, so no need to even think about changing until at least 60K and most likely they will be ok until around 80K.
Read the owner's manual and find out what is required, and don't let a dealer sell you something you DO NOT need (unless you want to help the dealer out).

Next week, at 18K, I'm going to check:
Air Filter
Change oil/filter
Check coolant level
Install Silverstars in headlamps and fog lamps
I have already changed out the blades

F5, I was just wondering if there is a thread out there with instructions on replacing the head/fog lights or is it in the owners manual?...

Thanks

Cool 100K plugs. Thanks F5FStop

One less thing to worry about!

I guess I should read my manual

Headlamps:
Open hood, reach down to the back of the headlamp assembly, grab the connector, turn about a quarter turn, and pull back and remove bulb. Only caution is to make sure not to touch the bulbs, since oil from the fingers will cause a possible hot spot and burn the bulb out. Cotton gloves are good to use. If you touch the bulb, clean with alcohol.

As for fogs, I believe all you have to do is reach up between the shield and the front bumper, or remove the engine shield, which I will have off when I get around to the oil change.
