Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing. One just sold for $3500...Let's see $600 retail...wow. A ~500% in profit really isn't bad at all...

Yeah having played the standing in line game in the past I have decided to wait for about 6-12 months before buying any of the new gaming consoles. The reason is they spend about that much time in the shop getting fixed due to bugs. It happened with the X-Box and Playstation 2. There were so many problems with the first releases that they kept having to go back to the shop. Now we wait for prices to drop and for them to get the bugs out in the future releases.

As for paying 3500 dollars for a gaming console when I could spend that on a full GOBI outfitting for the truck I would chose GOBI in a heartbeat.

If I could've bought a few dozen, well then maybe it'd be worth the wait. But I do mean a FEW DOZEN.

I am one of the dumb assses to pay 500 for a original X-box when they first come out and all it does is gather dust now. Just wait till after christmas, they pull this crap every time and the first units have tons of bugs to fix.

Who's going to buy these things? I think the PS3 is a little overpriced. I remember when I was a kid, N64 was $150 or something, and I thought that was expensive, but could at least try to save up some of that and split it with my parents for Christmas. $600 or whatever is out of the ballpark. Personally, I'm waiting for the Wii, because:
1. Its only $250
2. I like Nintendo
3. I'm hoping the motion-sensing controller means everyone will enjoy playing it (i.e., girlfriends :D) because it's more intuitive with less buttons.

All my son wants for Christmas is a Wii. Price is right, but getting one is going to be a nightmare. I'll be in line tomorrow. :crying:

Aww, that's really cool you're going to wait for it! :D I was looking for one at Costco today, but I couldn't find one. :(

Oh, well since "tomorow" is now "today, how did it go? Did you get mobbed and run over like some of the people waiting for the PS3?

Nintendo doesn't launch it's new Wii until Sunday, Nov. 19. Some stores will open at midnight Saturday night/Sunday morning to sell the limited stock .. others won't sell theirs til Sunday regular store hours. Not all CostCo's will have their Wii stock this Sunday. Check this site for Wii inventory in your area by zipcode. http://digg.com/gaming_news/WII_Target_Inventories_now_on_Google_Maps

Click on the area that says: Wii Target Inventories now on Google Maps! Then, you'll see the area to put in your zipcode. It gives inventories of the Wii for Target Stores, Best Buys, EB GAmes, GameStops, Toys R' Us, etc.
Good luck! :D

Was it a long line?
No. What happened was that CostCo (here) announced that their shipment hadn't arrived. In actuality, 24 had arrived, but far too small a number to announce to the public. My friend knows the manager, who told her he'd sell the 24 to whoever was at the door at a specific time very early morning. Forty people were there even though they were told there wouldn't be any until 'maybe' next week. They wanted to JUST make sure. LOL. We were #18 out of 24, but we knew there would be 24 units. Stood 2 hours .. then had to come back 45 minutes later to turn in our number to pay and pick up the unit. Afterwards, we drove by Toys R' Us .. trailed behind the end of the line that had waited all night. 100 got a Wii .. we were #104, so they gave us a raincheck and guaranteed we will have one from the next shipment. :D Soooo, I'll sell one to my friend who didn't manage to get one .. and the other is from Santa for our son. If my friend gets one elsewheres, I'll sell the extra one on eBay. :D

Depending...From what I understand, the Blue Ray DVD players are priced more than the system.
