OK, maybe it's because it is -25/-30C here this week, but when I turn on my heater the fan on the passenger side makes a horrible grinding sound as it is running. When I turn the fan from 3-4 highest speed it makes a click and the sound goes away (allthough the fan at that point is so loud I don't think I could hear the grinding.

Anyone else notice this? I'm going to get the hummer in for service in a couple weeks anyways for an oil change and get them to check it out... And my delayed wiper blades and rattles in the headliner and windshield.

I love my H3 but so many little annoyances :(

I've also noticed that I get rocks in the brake pads pretty easily, I used to have this problem on a civic I used to have so I recognized the sound.

Thanks for your input guys!

Sounds like a heater fan, easy replace by the dealer. Odd, but not unheard of.

I'm assuming you mean, when you press wash, the wipers are delayed until about 2 ounces have squirted on the window? If so, don't accept "that is normal" from the dealer. It was normal, until a month ago, when a new calibration was released. Tell him to go to TIS2WEB in their service info system, and locate the latest and greatest body control module calibration (program) and install the thing in your Hummer. I did mine last week, and now the wipers come on the minute the washer button is pressed. (Note: Body Control Module in TIS2WEB for the H3 is listed as the truck body module.)
Rattle in headliner, if above the driver's head may be the Onstar Mic wiring harness. If at the center of the headliner in the front, could be the wiring harness for the mirror or sunroof, if you have one.

Stay off dirt roads....:D

Awesome! Thanks for the advice my friend!

The heater issue only started this week with the deep freeze so I thought it may have had something to do with it. I'll get it checked out :)

You described my wiper problem exactly, when I push for spray the wipers you have to push for what seems like a long time before the wipers start. I'll get that checked out as well.

The rattle in the liner seems to be from the dome light, it may be loose. I've just been turning up the radio to down it out and the heater fan :p

And staying off dirt roads? thats just impossible in a Hummer! :p I've actually been looking forward to the snow and cold here, my first real chance to see how the H3 does in snow and ice and I tell you it is a dream!

I'm in Calgary, Alberta Canada :) Great place to live except for this cold weather. Typically we don't get this kind of cold except for small batches in January/February.

I have to say that the H3 seems to do really well in the cold. On the way to work this morning the temp on the mirror was -29C and it was -22C on the way home. Considering how cold it is the H3 starts up like a charm and idles pretty smooth.

When was the build date of your truck? I ask because had mine built in 03/06, w/ delivery in April '06.
I have been reading the different problems that folks have encountered over the last few months and I think maybe my trruck was built with all of these little problems corrected.
Could it be that the bugs were all worked out through the first 10 months of production, and when I ordered my H3, in March '06, the corrective measures were aleady put into place?
I did test drive the '07 H3, and except for the Engine change, My truck seems to resemble the '07 design, which is to say that the factory did it right and didn't feel the need to alter the '06 tooling.

You know, I have ver checked exactly when mine was built. I picked it out at the dealership in February but I have a feeling it was built a while before and sat at the lot. Still can't understand why the Shadow Green didn't sell that well?
