Howdy folks,
I have searched the forums but did not find what I was looking for.
My wife and I are expecting our first child (May 14 2007 YIPEE!!!) and I am wondering if the parents out there have any suggestions on the best car seats for the H3? I know it has the LATCH system but since the back seats are a little different from most vehicles I was wondering if anyone has suggestions. Good experiences/bad experiences with certain brands?
Thanks a bunch!

Do a search on www.britax.com There is not a better tested car seat and booster any where period. They are the only company to crash test their car seats and boosters. Their booster has SIDE IMPACTS for the head.

Congrats of the new one to be :beerchug: I use Graco seats in mine and no problems. Junior is in a booster seat and the girl is in a forward facing 3 in one seat.

Just kidding. Congratulations! :clapping:
I have 2 girls, 28 months and 2 months. We used the cheapo seats with my first because my wife couldn't see laying down $300.00 for a Britax. Notice I said "seats", there was always something that we didn't like about the el cheapos so we kept buying another one at 60 to 100 dollars a pop. We went with our Eddie Bauer carrier for 2 weeks with my newborn, then we got a Britax. Carriers are a waste, get a "New Native Sling", (look it up on the web). My wife is very happy, she doesn 't blow a gasket everytime she puts the kids in their seats, we should have bought it 2 years ago. Before she had to readjust them every time.
Britax. Any model, you will never regret it.;) The sling is great too.

Yes when it comes to your childrens safety you can not put a price on it. Britax does cost the most but look at thier seat in person and you cant even compare it to the others and then the testing it is the best over all hands down. The way I look at it is if I am in a car wreck I want to know I had the best and most safe seat that was out there for my child.

No kids here , but if they happen to show up one day, they won't be riding in my H3. That's why the wife has a car.:giggling:

I'd second (or third) that. I did a lot of research for ours, and ended up with the Britax Boulevard (http://www.britaxusa.net/products/360_boulevard.aspx). I'd also like to add, keep them rear facing until you reach the seat's height/weight limit! They are MUCH safer rear facing, and most Britax convertible seats go to 31 or 33 lbs rear facing, which means at least three years old for most kids.
If you need a forward facing seat, Recaro (http://www.recaro.com/index.php?id=1923®ion=3&L=2) makes a great seat as well, but I am still waiting for them to come out with their convertible (rearward and forward facing), web site says coming in 2007.
P.S. -- We had out Boulevard in an H3 rear facing for an extended test drive, it fits in the center seat position without issue, but could not be used in an outboard seat position rear facing. There was still enough room for an adult on either side of the seat, and the seat belt buckles could be reached, but it was a bit cramped.

Yes enjoy the young years. It sad but whlie they are growing up we teach them to walk and talk. Then when they get older we are finding our selfs telling them over and over to be sit down and be quiet.

We're expecting our first one in March. After much research we picked up the Chicco Cortina travel system. The travel system seemed like a good idea so that we could transfer the baby from the car to the stroller without disturbing her. The features and quality seemed top notch and include a bubble-level on the base to make sure it is adjusted to the optimum level for safety. Also we liked the full-body cradle for newborns as opposed to just the head in many other systems. The base is flat on the bottom, so doesn't cut into the leather seats like some of the cheaper ones.
Britax only has one travel system (the Companion), and although it looks nice it is currently being recalled.
Once she outgrows the infant seat in this system, we'll probably get a Britax toddler seat (still using the Chicco stroller).
