CHICAGO ? A man has been arrested by federal agents (javascript:siteSearch('federal agents');) on charges of planning to set off hand grenades (javascript:siteSearch('hand grenades');) at an Illinois shopping mall on Dec. 22 as part of his plan to commit "violent jihad" against civilians.

Derrick Shareef, 22, of Rockford, was arrested when he carried out a rendezvous with an undercover agent in a parking lot to trade a set of stereo speakers for four grenades and a handgun...

Unfortunately I knew it was just a matter of time before one of those nut jobs tried blowing themselves up here. It would be really easy. Which is why I stay away from public transportation and malls.

One of the ideas of Al Qaeda is to perform coordinated attacks at shopping malls across the USA. Kill as many as possible, with the thought being that if this happened at 10 or more shopping malls across the USA, on the same day, the retail economy would be destroyed for many months or even years.

Just think about it, who would stop them, even if they only brought rifles or handguns? Mall security guards, NOT.

I believe this is something they could pull off, with limited resources, but it will never keep me from going to a mall; no more than these scum bags will keep me from flying. I'm more terrified of Jeep Commander driver's with cell phones in the mall parking lot than some wacko coming in blasting away.
