I posted this on the H2 side of the forum and got zip, nada, nichego responses, so I thought I would try here.

I am eligible for GM supplier discounts. Does this discount apply to extended warranties, too? Does anyone have any idea how big the discount is, if this does apply?

Maybe I shoould have started a new thread on the H2 forum instead of resurrecting an old one.

Thanks:popcorn:

Don't think so, but you may have to call a dealer to find out for sure. The warranties are handled by GMAC, which is no longer 100% owned by GM.
You can obtain a Hummer warranty from any GM dealer, and I know Ken Fichtner Chevrolet (from the Corvetteforum.com) used to give great discounts. In fact, I priced a Vette warranty, and he gave me a better price then I could get locally with my GM employee discount. In addition, purchase it out of state, and you may not have to pay sales tax.

There was another dealer who offered discounts on extended warranties too. Might be Bean, but not sure.

Try this site/phone #---

warrantywarehouse.com (800) 505-3344

I have used this company for years and have found them very reliable and competetively priced.

Be cautious of non-GM warranties. In the past three years, Warranty Gold and OneSource have gone bankrupt, and these were two large firms.
Some are reliable, but just be cautious.

I have no idea when the standard warranty is up. And if it is up soon, is it realy a good idea to buy from someone other than a GM Dealer? I normally never keep anything longer than 18 to 24 months, but I like this 3 so it may be around much longer.

Thanks for all the help! As usual, the H3 side of the house came through!:perfect10s:

I kind of hope they don't take the discount. I'm on vacation and have absolutely NO desire to go to work to get the discount numbers!

Also, I have another wrinkle. My H2 is a factory buy back. In the deal, GM included 12 months 12K mile warranty. The H2 had 27K miles and is an 05. does the 12K warranty extend the remainder of the factory warranty, or is this just a "feel good" piece of paper. Probably will have to ask the dealership on that, but how does that affect the extended factory warranty?? Damn, Byzantine politics is easy compared to this!

Thanks again!

When we at Saturn issued extended warranties on buy-back vehicles, it was just that, an extended warranty on top of the standard factory warranty. However, do check; GM did a few things differently.
