Forget cow-tipping ? pig-tossing is the newest trend among redneck pranksters.
West Point, Miss., has been seeing a rash of animal-tossing episodes, the Associated Press reports.
The most recent episode was the toss of a 60-pound pig over the counter of the Holiday Inn Express by Kevin Pugh, 20. No one was hurt, including the pig.
Pugh was fined $279, and given some very strange looks by police, who find the trend very bizarre.
"This was the silliest thing I've ever seen," McCaskill said. "Almost every officer we had was involved because the incidents kept happening at different hours."
McCaskill said there have been four late-night incidents involving animal-tossing at West Point businesses. Twice a pig was tossed; two of the incidents involved possums.
"He [Pugh] said it was a prank," McCaskill said. "It must be some redneck thing, because I haven't ever heard of anything like it."
All four of the incidents took place between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m., according to McCaskill.
Pugh is accused in another animal-throwing incident at a Hardee's restaurant
In that case, he has pleaded innocent to disturbing the peace and will be appearing in city court on Dec. 19.

Looks like I moved to Dallas before that trend got started...thankfully.

That's not far from where we go to actual off-road Hummer Happenings.
It's home to Mossy Oak camoflauge and Old Waverly golf course. Old Waverly is a top golf course.
It's also home to some of the weirdest people... so, can't really say that I'm surprised. Each time I've stopped in West Point for gas or something, something unusual was seen or happened. We have simply chalked it up to backwoods MS, but pig and possum tossing is something new.
I wonder if they tried tossing the snoring sow we saw last week?

Maybe you can suggest adding this to the next Hummer Happening. Something to kill time while waiting for the tow trucks....:D

I'm just trying to figure out the point of it.
When I was a wee lad, we would go to the farm where we had pigs and would see how many of the little piglets we could throw up in the old corn crib barn before the big momma sow got to us. They'd be squealing and carrying on... and sows aren't all that fast, so when you see 'em coming you can get a good 2 or 3 throws in before you get a bite or you have to jump up into the barn yourself.;) :D And when pigs bite, it hurts... and bleeds.

Well, I guess the age old question, "Can pigs fly?" has been finally answered.

Pig tossing, chicken dropping; and to think, I used to live in a state that bordered on Mississippi.....:shhh: :D

Ok, the chicken drop thing was in a bordering state.... and we were surrounded by roughly $12M in offshore powerboats and their owners.
It was a poker run! I happen to have scanned a pic from back then showing one of the fans of the diesel-jet powered Popeyes boat. This is the actual "Chicken drop" that was on the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain... but I doubt it's still there now. It was a bar just outside of Lacombe, on the Lake.
