Thought I would do a road trip to Irvine Ca. from Vancouver Canada and pick up a bike I bought off the net. Made it to Calf OK but the rig was a little dirty. Had it washed and detailed. When I drove away the stabilty and check 4 wheel drive lights came up on the dash. I contacted Onstar and they confirmed the failures. I made an appoointment at a Hummer dealer in San Juan Capistrano to have it looked at. Later in the day I drove it and the fails were gone. Had Onstar check and they were gone.
Soooo....do I take the H3 in and have checked which might take 3 days? Or, do I just write it off to moisture and having the buttons on the dash wiped by the detailer???
What to do????

I had the same problem...it turned off after about a day and has worked great ever since. Never took it to a dealer.:dancingbanana:

sometimes those systems won't read right if under a low power startup (not sure why there would have been one, but still possible from water someplace where it shouldn't be) normally you can turn the car off right then, turn it back on and everything is fine...sounds like everything is fine -- if there were a real problem, the warnings would not go away.

Moisture should not affect it, if it does, something is wrong. I'm guessing (and that is all it is), it was a coincidence. If it happens again, cycle through the buttons about 30 times. Hit all the buttons while sitting still, locking the t/case in and out of 4 normal, 4-HI and 4-LO. Sounds crazy, but it has been known to actually work. This was an actual correction requested by Borg Warner for the transfer case control module.

Thanks for the info... This is what I am looking for.... sound advice that does not require me to drop the H3 at the dealer. Will keep a eye out and push all those buttons if needed.

Brain Fart...Mine has done it, and all I did was shut it off, wait ten seconds, started it back up....never happened again.

As Bebe said, sometime a restart will reset. Happened to me twice in Moab, both time starting to climb a nasty off-road, and both times a stop and turn off, reset the computer.

I had a similar issue within the first few 100 miles after purchase. Stability Off I think was the error. Dealer checked it out and replaced...ah jeez, I doin't remember or have paperwork in front of me...some motor in the transfercase I think. Does that make sense? No probs for the last 9K miles.

IT'S A FRIGGIN MIRACLE!!
I walked out to take it to the dealer's this A.M. and it had "healed itself"! Gone were the lights. The transfer case shifted without fail. The axle locked with alacrity. So, I guess all is well?
I can't wait for this to happen when I REALLY need low range!:twak:
