hey everyone i got a question you might be able to help with.

When i purchased my truck i bought the majorguard plan for 72/72 for a price of 1888. i dont know if thats a good deal or not but im thinking not.

I just purchased the same majorguard for a chevy cargo van for 48/32 for a price of 1305. the van is curently at 25000 miles. The bumper to bumber for this truck would have been up in february.

So this is the question. When you buy an extended waranty does the clock and odo start ticking at the time of signing the warranty papers or at the end of the bumper to bumper warranty? therefore do i have 72/72 in adition to the bumber to bumper (which would give me 5 years after bumper to bumper) or does the extended replace the bumper to bumper (i mean do they both run at the begining) which would mean i have purchased only 2-3 years in aditional protection?

thanks for any help!

In my case, it is an add-on at the end of the factory warranty.

My understanding is it starts with the delivery of the vehicle. Therefore, a 48K/48 month warranty adds only 12/12 on top of the factory warranty. That was one advantage of purchasing an aftermarket warranty. The date started at the time you purchased the warrany. Miles started with zero when the vehicle was new.

yeah thats what i was thinking too, thanks for the clarification guys. I was thinking wheter it would be beter to not get a one at purchase and just wait till it almost is up, but after looking at some numbers it kind of comes out the same, not too big of a diffrence.

Thanks for the help! merry christmas, and happy holydays
