I just got a letter from Hummer about the brake controller wiring being different between GM 02 and the 03.
It states that the 03 has a different wiring harness (#15085418) and that
1. When your vehicle headlamps or park lamps are turned OFF:
Your electric trailer brakes may not apply when the vehicle brakes are applied.
2.. When your vehicle headlamps or park lamps are turned ON:
Your electric trailer brakes WILL apply WITHOUT the vehicle brakes being applied.
I've put the controller out of my 02 HD into both of my 03 HD P/U trucks and they work fine except the led lite is on when the headlamps are.
Does anyone have the new harness to compare to the old one or anybody have the wiring diagram for the H2 trailer brake connector so I can see what the difference is.
There are only 8 terminals so can't be much different.

I have the new harness and have not installed it yet. What do you want to know?

Doesn't this sound a wee-bit dangerous to anyone?

Brakes will apply when parking lights are on?

Don't tow anything you want to keep and stay out of California.

This should be a recall or they should supply the harness that must remain with the vehicle.

Stay out of California??? I would think that would be one of the best places to check out/test trailer brakes!!! :-)

But GM has CYA'd by the last sentence of the letter..."Please keep this letter with your vehicles owner manual for future reference"...Ha!!!

GM is being ridiculous, making us pay for their design flaws. As I posted earlier "GM should do this "No Charge"!!!!"
