Driver side door leaking like a faucet

About two inches behind the curve, right where the black roof trim joint is. When I make a hard right turn in the rain, water pours, not drips, inside. Is there a bulletin? (I did a search already on door leaks, no joy)

Figured it out, the black plastic roof trim is busted, on both sides where the A pillar cover meets the roof trim. I'm sure the dealer will cover it. Dumb design if you ask me.

black plastic trim does not keep out water, there are three seals. One, the upper auxiliary weather seal runs from the back of the front door, along the top edge of the vehicle, down the A-pillar. The other seal, front door weatherstrip, is the big D-ring type weather strip that circles the door on the inside. And then there is the seal attached to the door opening that runs down the sides and the top, but not on the bottom.

I don't know of any of those black plastic exterior A-pillar trim pieces that fit great, mine have a gap, and I don't have a water leak, and living in MI, I know about heavy rain. Have also driven a H3 without those plastic trim pieces on a vehicle, and no water leaks. Dealer can still replace them, I hear the new ones fit better, but the leak is probably due to a seal.

Yeah - that sounds like a seal issue to me as well - from past experience with other vehicles. :iagree:

Perhaps it's coincidence, but I think not. The black plastic trim is cracked through and through making a channel, negating the door seal's effectiveness. I've slid it all apart enough to find the problem. It'd be BETTER WITHOUT the black plastic trim because it's making the void for water to flow through. So, while you're absolutely correct in saying that without the trim, it didn't leak, with a broken one, it does. My parts are in and it'll be repaired Thursday. Hummer's been standing behind this vehicle 100% so far.

Interesting. I know mine has about a 1/16 inch gap between the roof rail and the a-pillar trim where it fits over the roof rail, and I have never had any leaks inside the door.
