To protect my Victory Red H3 before wheeling through the brush, I put on my pre-cut, red, magnetic vinyl sheeting. It protects everything metal, and the red vinyl matches the truck very well. I bought the Vinyl magnetic sheeting from magnet king. I prep the truck at home, and drive 20 miles or more to the trailheads, and the magnets do not shift at all.
I use blue painters tape to cover the fenders, and other various pieces.
HERE IS MY QUESTION. i am trying to find a RED painters tape, with the same adhesion qualities as the blue, but no Such thing exists. The truck looks goofy covered in the blue tape on the freeway. I need to find a 2" wide red tape that will not leave residue on the fenders when removed. Any ideas anyone ?????.
By the way, the magnet & tape WORK GREAT. I wheeled yesterday, and drove the truck through brutal brush for 9 miles on a trail. NOT A MARK.

Get some Frost King tape, it's clear... the next best thing. It's what I use and many other people I know use.

MUD,
Check the inside core of the tape to see who made it and google for additional info/color choices.
For those of you not familiar with Blue Painters Tape
IT LEAVES NO STICKY RESIDUE WHEN YOU REMOVE IT LIKE MANY OTHER TAPES.
Good luck...

Yes. I have a Victory Red H3, and got a roll of 10' x 24". Not nearly enough. Just did one side. I am ordering a roll of 25' x 24", and starting from scratch again. I learn't the hard way. I did the passenger doors, no problems, it cuts easily. I then did strips on all the other places. BAD MOVE. I am going to make a template for the upper doors, and cut out the magnet to the template. The only things I will need to tape will be the fiberglass fenders, and side of rear lights. I will tape the edges of the magnets when finished, so NO Victory red is showing at all.
I just went on a run this weekend as kind of a shake down run through the brush, and learn't a lot. DO NOT BE SCARED TO COVER EVERY LAST BIT ON THE SIDE OF THE TRUCK. I used 3" painters tape on the fenders,a nd it started to tear it off. i am still going to use painters tape on the fenders, but I am going to put red stucco tape on top. I just tried it in my driveway, and it really adds strenth to the tape. The blue painters tape does not leave any residue that cannot be cleaned off with a damp cloth. Make sure you truck is clean before putting the armour on. I always travel with a buddy, and he has a beat upi 1970 blazer that will go anywhere. Pinstriping is not a problem to his rig. After the trip we just went on, he called me next day, gushing about the trail damage to his rig, hoping I would be in tears about the H3 being scratched, but thankfully, not a scratch. The magnetic vinyl does a great job. maybe I should creat a company and make magnetic car coats ?????

I tape the edges, which it does not need. They do not move. The brush I went thru at the weekend was proof positive.
