Is a tire cover (that one) a pimp look?
I hear that covers help keep spare from deteriorating from UV rays. (From dealer). Is that just a load of crap?

The UV Ray Thing is no joke. 5F5stop just posted an answer to that question a few days ago.. Search for his post. As it turns out ...It's a good thang to cover your spare.

I have that exact one, it is nice and has a lock. I may be selling it soon, I am thinking of getting a matching spare for the wheels I already have.

Cool.. I searched Stallion and Xtream2... G-Style has a sale on now. I bought it for $296 and change ...plus shipping. Takes 2 weeks to get from the west coast to the east coast and painted when all said and done.
Xtream2 was cheaper on Bling ..but higher on the tire covers. Stallion was next.

no offense to anyone intended, but what is the point of a hard tire cover? Especially on a hummer. I'm more a form fits function guy. The last thing I want to do in time of emergency or flat is phuck with a tire cover. On a Cadi sure. On a hummer, I just don't see the point. But if it makes you happy, then right on and I have your next drink!

Man I cant remember where I bought mine but its black canvas has a Sema tag on it and has HUMMER written on the back. So far it is the best one i have seen.
The plastic ones look cheap and girly imo (sorry to offend) and I know most are buying them. They just look like sheet to me.
Also, mine was pretty cheap!

actually the one hes looking at is a metal ring. And hes obviously looking for something that will match the look of his truck. The cheap covers dont. These are color matched. And as for function give me a break. 1. if your going serious offroading you dont go with it on along with your center caps, step rails, brush guards etc.... 2. it takes about 2 seconds to take off. 3. emergency? i got a flat tire once and called onstar. they came and changed it in 15 mins total from the time i called them. I didnt even get out of the car.
I cant see it being a problem at all. It just looks good. Dont try to make stuff up to make yours seem better. Its prefrence.

I have had that cover for over a year, paid $354 (with shipping). I just wanted to color match the rest of the vehicle. Same thing with the fuel door...
The only thing I dislike is that when putting it back together you really have to align the two pieces to avoid rattle when closing the door.

Yea, i guess if you are going for a "strret look" aka mall crawler look with the low profile street tires then the hard plastic paint matched covers would suit it best.
If you are going to stick with the facotry plan of an off road look then IN JUS MY OPINION they look girly as hell on a 4x4.

I only used my spare tire once in over 20 years (blow out),I carry a compressor and a tire repair kit.
Easyer to repair then to change to spare.:dancingbanana:
