To sum up, I am buying a H3, I was just skeptical about the things that were said by the salesman last night during test drive re: warranty. You can get vehicle specs and prices in this thread seen below.

Now when I bought my wife's Audi I was told that I could buy an extended warranty to 100K for $1500 and that it was a $2200 value. After talking to Audi of America, AoA, they said that warranty comes from them and that a dealer can only charge $600 for that. Thats what I ended up paying. I got a similar line from this clown last night. That he was throwin in the factory 100K extended warranty worth $2000 for free and that was his reasoning for not bidging in price. I was looking for confirmation on GM warranty policy and cost before I spent all day on the phones hunting down the truth, as I did with Audi. This will give me some bidding power if it is false because I am paying cash, and not needing to finance anything.
If not read about in other thread, dealer was asking $26.5K and I told him $24K cash out the door with the Truxx leveling kit installed and 100K warranty and walked out. Its a black on black leather, all luxury amenities minus navigation and it has the rear diff lock and only 8.5K miles. What do you guys think about price and offer? Thanks for the input. :beerchug:

If it's a Hummer dealership, the certified program extends the factory basic warranty to 6yr/100k miles. I believe the "price" is 1,400.00. But that can only be done through an actual Hummer dealership. (from my understanding)
However, the overall vehicle price he is quoting you seems like a decent price. IMO
Go to hummer.com and then search for the factory certified program. You will find all of the details there.

Its a fair price. Ask for free standard maintainance (oil, filter, etc) for as long as you own the vehicle (in writing)

Thank you very much. This is not a Hummer dealership. It is a trade in vehicle at a Nissan Dealership. So that is also why I was skeptical because in the Audi situation it was an Audi dealership. He said it is a certified vehicle, so I assume it is eligable for the warranty, but as far as he giving that to me or being able to authorize it, Im not sure. There also is no surrounding Hummer dealership, its kind of like a mall of dealerships not including a Hummer dealer. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for the site, and info! :beerchug:
and I will ask for the maintenance, haha! This guy is desperate, I can tell.

then im sure he's talking about an "aftermarket warranty".. which isn't all that bad, but not bumper to bumper.. (no matter what he says.)

Watch Out!!!! That warrenty & Service & anything else may ONLY be available at HIS LOCATION. If you move, your screwed and and not the good type...
now if that dealership is going to purchase a GM Extended warrenty from GM in your name then maybe.
Have a lawyer read the final contract. Sounds like a possible can of worms.

Don't believe any Nissan dealer will purchase a warranty from GM.
As RYD states, make sure it is good at any dealer (at least every Nissan dealer), or you might be screwed on a long trip. You might have to pay, then get reimbursed.
There are aftermarket companies that sell, or at least sold bumper to bumper coverage on everything except body and interior wear items. I had one on a Vette, issued via Warranty Direct.
Make sure the aftermarket warranty is covered by a reinsurance company. Two bigs ones, Warranty Gold and another one (can't remember the name right now) went bankrupt in the past three years.
You can purchase a Hummer warranty from another GM dealership. In fact, sometimes it is a lot less expensive. Fichtner Chevrolet in Montana will sell Hummer warranties, or at least last year they would, at a great cost with no requirement for sales taxes unless you live in MT. I believe Bean Pontiac/Chevy in either NC or SC will also sell a GM extended warranty on any GM vehicle, and the Hummer is just another brand of GM vehicle.
GM warranties are provided by MIC (motors insurance company) owned by GMAC.

The only way I am taking it is if it is purchased through GMAC, and will be good anywhere. That is what I am hoping for, and will clarify that before purchase. Thanks again for the help guys. And yes I do have a lawyer on hand waiting for me to fax any contracts to him to review first. :beerchug:

I am now the proud owner of an H3. WooHoo! $23K cash out the door, no extended warranty, so thanks to you guys a got an extra $1K off. :beerchug: It was indeed through the Nissan dealership and only for that dealership. So I will be taking to a Hummer dealer to get the extended through them. Now I just have to wait till Thursday to pick it up. It was a fresh trade in and they have to do the smog and safety still, take out the screens in the headrests, and put stock rims and tires on it. Those bling blings dont work for me. I told them to just make it all completely stock. I am going to the mountains on Friday and I cant wait to see what kind of trouble I can get into and take some snow pics. Thanks again guys for all the advice, and we'll see you in the dirt! Cheers.

It has all lux amenities minus the navigation. Plus it has the rear locking diff. Black ext, Black leather. I think I got a pretty darn good deal, but I think it was mostly because I wasn't financing it. I had to walk away 3 times before the guy caved at $23K. :giggling: Im soo friggin stoked, I cant wait.
