:fdance: No.

All n00bs must use the search function until we get our FAQ up.

Then you'll have to use that first before you can even post.:jump:

BS fourfourto. Dont lie to the guy.

Honestly, a low mileage 2004 H3 is the best year. Like a 98 H1.

Good luck on the hunt.

what i mean is, is there any specific problems i should look out for? price i'm not too concerened with, but with lets say "Land Rovers" i should look out for signs of leaks, are H3 notorious for anything? electrical problems? u bolts? bad radios? anything that seems to pop up alot?

and of course i've been utilizing the search function, but theres alot to get through:twak:

Seriously any 2006 would be good, they didnt make a 2005.If you want the 22 extra Hp get a 2007.
I would look for a adventure or a luxury with the off road package.

Good luck:D

get a 07 with money on the hood and the good lease rates you will be happy. used 06 loaded going for 25-30 and stay away from any with black bars on the hubcaps, they are eairly builds. No huge problems.

Oh yeah get a 07 if $$ isn't an issue, a lil more power and a great warranty.

To be honest there are some issues that seem common, dead Batteries, creaking windshield, Roof marker lights that whistle at you, door handles that fall off, Sunroofs that leaked, you know the normal things.. But none of it would be reason enough not to buy one.
I am glad I bought mine... Plus once you get to mud none of that will matter anymore.. You will be smiling as you drive through mud and laughing as you are slinging mud at the guy behind you..

See No Worries!

I have black bars on the Hubcaps. But I knew it was an early build. So far, 10K miles, everything is as expected. No probs except the roof rail and washer motor recall. I bought it in Aug 06. It was the only 5 Speed with Adv pkg.

I have an 06 with 20k mi. and am very pleased with the vehicle. The only problem i had was a bad battery, but they replaced it.

I give it:

The only somewhat significant 07 vs. 06 difference is the 3.7L vs. 3.5L engine but the horsepower difference is small considering the price difference. I have an 06 purchased in July 2005. I now have 30K miles with no issues.

Good luck in your search.

Dude it's a Hummer, look at fit and finish on a H2 or H1, I tell the wife "its a hummer, it makes noise"

Wolf, if price is not a concern, then just get an 07 with the 5 yr powertrain warranty and 22 extra HP. If price is a concern then get a new 06, if you can find one. The 06 has a 4 yr warranty.

If you drive lots, the LUX pkg is worth the extra comfort. If I could do it all over again I would have added the off road pkg too. If you like "bling" then buy a plain one and add it yourself. Dealer "bling" is far more expensive.

For research on problems, search "wind noise", "cracked mouldings", "A-pillar", "door handles", "roof marker lights", "vibration"

For getting a discount, search "GMID", "GM Supplier", "GMS"....you wont be sorry. That's if you buy a new vehicle.

Good luck.

I had a customer lined up on a 03 H1 right off the transport. this was at a discount of $110,000.00s o I was making no money on the deal but a bonus on the moving of an H1. So we track this thing, he comes into town a day eairly to fill out the paperwork and as soon as the tech drives it around the block the tranny blows a plug/seal and tranny fluid is leaking all over the bay. I had to dance to keep this guy another day in a hotel. The next day it burned a mass air flow sensor and we did a jerri rig to get him down the road with his brand new 100k plus H1. He called me a month later and said he was so happy with the truck and just finished tightening evey bolt on it. "becasue most were loose" and we sent him the part to be replaced on the air flow sensor. The H3 belive it or not is the best made Hummer on the street!

i have an 06 build sep 05, and have had the abs encoder module replaced. other than that no other real problems. small things like rattle and the roof rails replace. So far after 8000 miles im very sattisfied. personally i dont think 07 is worth it. im praying for a bigger hp upgrade in later years and maybe ill upgrade by 2010, hehe. whatever you get make sure its checked out by a competent mechanic, and if possible get the repair history of the vehicle, and look for reoccuring problems, repairs that occur only once are not really problems. I think some people on here can help you get that through the VIN of the vehicle, am i wrong about that?

anyway, if you offroad, make sure to get the appropriate package. good luck!

Honestly Wolf, if possible by a low low mileage 06 or 07 from Hummer dealer because it is then certified. Much better warranty then new.

When i traded in my 06 H3 for the H2 they had just began certifying and it was sold in hours. It had 10k miles on it. Basically new but certified warranty kicks ass.:beerchug:

WOLF !!!

welcome to the nut house...

As already stated

NO 2005 H-3's

2006, there are some fit and finish problems as on all new vehicles. Also some mech problems as well but none seem serious or unique to just H-3's or are wide spread.

Used 2006 H-3's are out there. You need to look up the COST of a 2006 on Edmunds.com then deduct around $2500.00 approx which was the closeout incentives for the end of model year. Now you know what NOT to pay for a use one.

I'm assuming you want a used H-3 to save money so try and find one at a GM Dealer so you can get a warrenty. Be careful anywear else, but if you find a good price and it checks out and the price is right, then go for it.

Do some searches on this forum for all the problems that have shown up and good luck

Just paid $23K out the door, no extended warranty. Early 06 H3, from what the dealer said, came with a 3 year 36K warranty. That was coming from the Nissan dealer that it was a trade in at, so I will be on my way to a Hummer dealer to get the real low down. I am getting it inspected on my own and buying the extended through GMAC though. :beerchug:

well, they come with a standard 4 yr 50,000 mile warranty from the original purchase date. So if you can find that part out, you may even have most of that warranty yet. IMO, don't buy the extended warranty yet. You have till just before the factory one expires to buy an extended. You may not even have the truck that long. That'll save you more money for the next two years at least.

Wolf, regardless what you buy - get it up on ramps and have a good look underneath - they are awesome off road, however not everyone will do it "properly" .... check if it has had a hard life thus far, if it has walk away... I'm sure there'll be plenty to choose from!!

Cheers

LR Wolf, my advice would be to look around the Hummer dealership for a used one as they are certified and also you get to buy the Hummer from the Hummer dealershi :) Also just so you know incease you didnt know the 2007 models now have 22 more horsepower (242) rather than the 2006 which had (220). Also there was never a 2005 model H3. Good luck in your quest! And as soon as you get it post some pics and let us know!

go with the 07 if you can
i traded in our 06 for the 07 just for the 50,000 more warranty miles
the 06 has 50,000 and the 07 has 100,000 warranty
we did it in hopes that most of the 5 years it takes to pay for it
will be covered under warranty .... we drive alot so the 4 years of warranty ment nothing cause we would of been over the 50,000 miles in 2 years

either way your gonna love the H3

You should check out any H3 out very carefully before purchasing. Inspect it especially thoroughly in the following places: just behind the front diff; right above the front control arms; around the rear axle and diff; in the cargo area; and, of course, the entire engine. These are a few of the places where you might find unacceptable levels of H2 envy. Just be careful. That's all.

Once my newborn is sleeping at least 4 hours at a time, I might be able to go wheeling again - Paragon or Rausch Creek - to a lesser extent the GWNF and the Monongahela. BTW: I'm just joking - sort of.
