I am trying to search and find that thread that has the directions on changing your alarm settings. The settings to honk your horn or not when you lock your H3. I think there are 4 settings but I can't find the thread or recall how to do this. Thanks for your help.

It should be covered in your owners manual.

open driver's door when the car is off - hold down lock and unlock buttons on keyless entry remote...RF(1-4) will appear..4 settings..click through using trip odo stalk...I think you want #1 but trial and error will work, I don't have the manual in front of me.

Thanks for the info. Using the manual what a concept - if I had one that might have come in handy but unfortunately I do not and appreciate someones help. By the way does any one have a .pdf manual?

LOL. I REALLY dislike the H3 horn. Trying to find the right train horn ... but I don't want to get one of those 'heart attack' horns. I heard a GREAT horn last month! Ran out of the house to see what was coming with that deep, triple horn sound. LOLOLOL .. it turned out to be the garbage truck. OMG!!! :p

Is this what you're looking for?
Remote Keyless Entry Feedback
This feature allows you to program your remote keyless
entry feedback to a preferred setting.
To set your choice for this feature, perform the
following steps:
1. With the engine off, turn the key to LOCK. Do not
remove the key from the ignition.
2. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the
remote keyless entry transmitter at the same time.
Hold both buttons until the DIC display shows
the current remote keyless entry feedback mode.
3. To view the next available mode, press and hold
the reset stem for approximately two seconds.
Release the reset stem and press and hold again to
view each mode.
4. Once the desired mode is shown on the DIC
display, briefly press the reset stem to set your
choice. The DIC display will then clear.
The following are the available modes:
RFA 1 (default): This mode flashes the parking lamps
when you press the lock or unlock buttons on the
remote keyless entry transmitter.
RFA 2: This mode flashes the parking lamps and
sounds the horn when you press the lock button on the
remote keyless entry transmitter. This mode also
flashes the parking lamps when you press the unlock
button on the remote keyless entry transmitter.
RFA 3: This mode flashes the parking lamps and
sounds the horn when you press the lock or unlock
buttons on the remote keyless entry transmitter.
RFA 4: This mode disables remote keyless entry
feedback. There will be no feedback when you press
the lock or unlock buttons on the remote keyless
entry transmitter.

Ok, how do you keep the doors from locking automatically when you're driving? I don't live in the city, hate unlocking the doors to open gates and such.

well when the vehicle is shifted out of park, u have no choice but to have the doors lock, unless you manually unlock them by pressing..."unlock":twak:
