View Full Version : If you could have only ONE improvement (besides the engine)

What would it be?

I hurt my shoulder, I'm kinda gimped up for a while. I really really REALLY wish that it had a telescoping steering wheel. To put the seat where I want it (pretty far back but not all the way) I feel like I'm driving straight armed. So, I pull the seat up at the expense of my knee comfort to relieve the strain on my shoulder. Granted, I have 130 curves to drive to get home and to work ( I do NOT have the luxury of driving with a finger on the bottom of the steering wheel like a flatlander), but it'd be nice.

I tried that too. It doe still freeze up. It's the damn nozzles. For whatever reason, they seem to freeze up no matter what. It may be time for a factory hot shot system like they are putting in all the new Thaoe/ Burban, Silverado, Yukon, Escalade, and LE HUMMERS. I would have to go with this upgrade.

Hmm... I've thought about this for awhile and have to say the one improvement I would really like to see would be a v-tec badge located under the H3 emblems.

But that would make no sense. Vtec for Honda means variable timing and lift and electronic control, and the original statement would assume the vortec engine has no variable timing.

Maybe its only on the lux model. My 06 has one on the passenger side, and I haven't checked driver side. My wife just commented on how she liked the fact that it was a dimmer light as opposed to some high powered halogen blinding you. Thats the only way I knew I had one. :beerchug:

Only one thing huh?
Well...

I like everything about the truck as is.
But the 'Guage Cluster Dimmer/ Courtesy Light Switch', to adjust the brightness, needs to be changed from a wheel type switch to a push button on & off. Similar to the courtesy lights 'bypass switch' under the main veh lights switch, and the fog lamps switch.

well myself heres what i would like to see done
*better located window buttons (as ive said before)
l*ight in the back seat
*handle above the driver side of the roof
*and no attena sticking out of the car
*and instead of backseat that doesnt fold down all the way id have it so it fold down flat

Nothing that big that anyone can live without, but it would just make the car a tad more convineant/nicer

Got to go with a overdrive trany option. No matter what is tryed cant get beyond the 18 mpg barrier. OD gear is needed for highway mpg goals. Not complaining but will trade my 06 when GM does it...

2. Relocate those friggin' seat controls! What lame brain came up with that placement!:twak:

Fold-flat reat seats, way more comfortable backseats, more storage space, a dark tinted moonroof, less wind noise, better back speakers on the monsoon, front end level without a t-bar adjustment, better brakes so you don't fly foward when you stop, and much brighter headlights. Honestly almost everything about the interior I hate on the H3, the comfort, the storage space, and the lack of tech offerings. I do however like the balck, aspault like look... I feel like I could never damage anything even if I tried.

6-speed manual transmission, where 5th gear is 1:1 and 6th is overdrive. The manual gear spacing is adequate in 4hi. But there's too much space between gears in 4lo with the 4:1 ratio.

If only one I'd choose a bigger rear window top to bottom.

Overall I'd like for the rear wiper to go all the way across, and the rear seats to fold flat.

1. Removable rear seat headrests - This would definitely help with the rear seat folding flat thus providing even better cargo space.

1. More computer readouts - trip information, gas mileage, distance, etc.

I'm sure there are more items that I'd like to see changed, but for the most part I still love my H3!

How about one per post?;)

After having my H3 for about a month the single thing I miss most is the large storage cubbies in the front doors that my Touareg had. They were extra deep and sized perfectly length and width wise, for a five cell Maglight.

So what is up with the useless skinny door pockets on the H3?????!!!!!!! They are almost identical to my 80's era Grand Wagoneers! They look like they were made for carrying envelopes to the post office.
:lame:

Surely someone looked at those during testing and thought, "Hmmmmmm, we can do better."

Still love my H3, but there are many obvious design shortcomings all over the H3.

Could it be the large corporate mentality at GM that makes it hard for someone to simply say, "Hey, this could be designed better"......and have it happen?
