I've just read that. Very interesting article. It said that he got a copy of the title before the sale and the seller had inflated feedbacks. Before giving anybody 17k, I would personally go down there and check everything out.
When things are too good to be true, Think again cuz it ain't true.

I agree. I've sold/bought items on eBay that cost in the thousands. I would NEVER do that without using an escrow.

And I don't think I'd close the deal on any vehicle before I actually had my hands on it and checked it out.

I recently sold my Corvette Z06 on ebay and was a smooth easy transaction. Where can you find that many potential buyers at that price? Plus I HATE any transaction with a car dealer - what other industry treats their customer with such disdain and utter disrespect and still stays in business (Plus huge profits on top of that!)?

Totally agree on the Escrow part though - safe transaction for both sides of the fence and no surprises - someone who is attempting to rip you off most likely will avoid Escrow.
