I got the new design installed at the end of last summer. My driver's side has a nice crack in the same location as the original set. The temps here have been hovering around zero with windchills below zero.

Not yet, but our passenger side interior door grab handle cracked to smithereens. Hard to believe. It looks like it's been sliced up by a razor, but it wasn't.

No but, the first passanger rail was bowed up. The dealr replaced it and the second was bowed even more so they repalced bolth sides. Now they bolth bowed about 1/2 inch of the roof. I would tell the dealer to repalce again.

Dam!:crying:  I just checked them today and the drivers side is cracked again in the same spot about 3/16 gap about a inch long.
They were perfect last month when I detailed them.
They dont even last a year,I thought they updated the plastic http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon13.gif
Its also been very cold here below 32 for a few weeks.
I guess I will have to give the dealer a call, maybe I will wait untill spring:mad:

CHP,
When my dealer looked at mine. They cracked last year. He suggested waiting. Its still the same small 1/16 to 1/8" gap over the driver side trim. Rather than have the same replacement/problem wait for the permanent solution which is in the works:beerchug:

I finally had the new driver/passenger sides installed on Monday.
So far so good!
Had the 3 for 10 months now...LOVE THIS TRUCK!....except the left roof rail. When the crack gets big enough, the flapping wind noise comes back. It seems to develop a new crack within a month of being replaced - every time. Am going to the dealer next week to replace again. This will be the 4th in 10 months. I'd leave it alone, but the wind noise is embarrasing when i have passengers. They always ask, "isn't this car new?"

I'm not familiar with this issue. Can you guys explain it more. Where are the cracks? They happened last winter? anything else?
When were your trucks made? Was this a fixed issue that only occured on certain trucks made in the first model year?

Its were the windshied plastic meets the top plastic.
In the cold weather it gets bigger and when it warms up it tightens up to a hairline crack.
I just checked mine and there still good http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif.
We will see what happens this winter.

Yep!
I found one. I have the crack on the driver's side. Checked the Passenger, and it appears normal. I will stop by the Dealer later.

Lex check the other side real close,in the warm weather its not too noticable.
If you have crossbows make sure you give them the key, check to make sure the crossbows are installed properly also.
They seem to not lock them in the groves properly :twak:

No Crossbows on my ruck, but the dealer told me that they would replace both rails, due to the issue. They said that if it happened on one and it is visable, it probably can't be seen on the other, but it is most likely there.
I also had an issue with the rubber weather stripping on the rear molding/trim pieces that extends down from the roof along the back gate.
They've ordered new rear pieces for me as well.
I'll just wait for the call, and set up an appointment. Thank goodness it will be all warranty!
