Wow, what a difference the tires and black wheels make. Your truck looks great. How do you like the Toyos? Do you have any significant rubbing? Thanks

Well Done!
Now that it's primered, what color are you going to paint it?:D
That was fast. You may want to leave the wheel covers off. Personally, I think it looks tough without them.

thanks for all the great responses everyone, i appreciate it.
the only rubbing i have so far is, when the wheels are fully turned and the windows are down and the radio is off, i can hear a slight rubbing on the sway bar, but that shouldn't hurt anything. it is a little worse in reverse, but again not bad. no rubbing on the plastics or in the rear. since the tires went on yesterday i have only been on paved surfaces though. im sure there will be some rubbing off road. who knows. now i do plan on trimming a small piece in the rear wheel wells and flipping the airbag sensor on the rears so i have plenty of room when off roading.
and the center caps for the wheels, i really think i like the look with them off. i was going to paint the center caps black and put them on but not anymore. ill paint them and then keep em stored until i change my mind someday. thanks everyone.

So are you going to do it yourself or have the dealer do it. I am very courious to know because I want to get these tires but my draw back was that of the air ride sensors breaking. My dealer told me that you can not move them.

So it looks like this peice was moved from the front to behind? Is that right? If so How do you do it?
And do you move just the top part or the bottom as well?

lol, to be honest, i have to talk to drmiles some more about it. im planning on doing it on friday. im under the impression that drmiles did it himself and that it was pretty easy.
he explains it somewhat to me at this link, http://www.kylebennett.com/showthread.php?t=341&page=1&pp=10 its on the third page, that thread also has some pics of his ride with the same tire doing some offroadin. hope this helps you out some.

:jump: Bully, you have the 37" BFG M/T's right? How's the gas mileage and highway ride with the larger tire diameter? I'm looking at either the 35's or the 37's in the Toyo.... - been looking for a while :)

I'll try to explain. Been two years since I dun it. First the connector rod is attached to the lever arm on the sensor. On the outside it is rubber, on the insice is a hard plastic pin that travels through the center or the rubber piece. Mine broke the hard pin. I then drilled out the rest of the pin making a small 1/16th hole in the rubber piece. Then took a number 6 sheet metal screw, placed the connector rod with the hole in the rubber, on the inside of the sensor lever arm. Then secured it with the #6 sheet metal screw from the outside through the lever arm into the connector rubber end. http://www.hummercommunity.com/images/smilies/eek.gif
Hope that helps. It is easy once you get the arm apart
Also not sure but you should be able to pry the pin out with a flat head screw driver. Don't worry if you break it. http://www.hummercommunity.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Thanks I think now I will get the Toyos instead of the BFG's :)
hummer74
02-08-2007, 03:15 PM
one thing to think about is, the bfg's are 12.5 wide and the toyos are 13.5 wide. if you want the look of a little more tire under you go with the toyos, if you want a little less rubbing, go with the bfg's. my deciding factor was i wanted a little wider tire for the looks. also, if you shop around at different discount tire stores and ntb stores, you can get them to price match www.tiredeals4less.com prices, which are dirt cheap. you just need to go back and forth and they will continue to beat each others prices. i got my five installed, mounted, and balanced for 1500 out the door. hope that helps you guys out. and make sure to post up some pics when you get them installed!

are you asking me? if you are, i am running 37 inch tires. official spec of the tire is 37X13.5X17, and yes it's the stock wheel just powdercoated black. the powdercoating cost me $55 a wheel.

we went ahead and flipped the lower part as well, that was VERY easy. actually, we swapped the the whole arms from the left side of the vehicle to the right and vice versa. turned out great and lots more clearance. all in all, took about 30 minutes to do all of it.

Awesome, what size and type of Screw did you use for both the top and bottom?
lol, i knew someone would ask. to be honest i have no idea. but it really didn't matter, because, you need to cut the remaining plastic post off, you can drill any size hole you want into the arm and put whatever size you want in there. i actually didn't even use a screw, we used a phillips head domed bolt and locknut. you just drill the hole to whatever size you are going to use. and for the bottom, you use the stock bolt thats already on there. hope that helps. if you have any questions when you are doing it, i can pm you my phone number to walk you through it.

ok, i found out what the bolt is.
it is a 5/16 stainless steel x 1.250 phillips panhead bolt with a stainless steel nylock nut. that bolt fits perfectly through the rubber link. hope that helps you all.

i believe they are the piaa 520's but dont quote me on that. install was simple if u have factory wiring already there. just cut the old plugs from the old lights and solder on the piaa plugs and then wrap up the connection. that was it. i had mine done at cartoys for me, it was like $50 or something....pretty cheap and they did a better job than i would have.
